Did the Pitch Rescue come get him?

One thing that will always keep Americans off football - they will never accept something as silly as the Pitch Rescue. Two lads trotting out with a fold-up stretcher to carry a player off the pitch when everyone knows he's coming back on after three squirts of magic spray.

First off - we're Americans and we like things motorized so we use golf carts and small tractors, not camp cots.

Second - we expect our players to walk it off. If they come off on a golf cart, they best be off to the hospital or somewhere for x-rays.

End of tangential rant springing from silly comment.

Back to thread....

I still struggle with this myself.

Suprised Man City didn't put a bid in for him given the amount of excitement there is surrounding the lad at the moment.
Maybe Moyes sees it as too risky seeing as we're 1 point from 9. If he ballsed up and we were 1 point from 12, that isn't gonna go down too well!
Personally, get him on though.

Alright Everton lads, first post, so bear with me. I'm a huge Sligo Rovers fan from Sligo so saw Seamie work all sorts of wonders for us in his all too brief time with us. I'm a football fan first and foremost. As a naive 10-15-year-old I was also a Liverpool fan. I had been a United fan before that for a year or two. How fickle! I quickly left the Reds behind and even caught an Everton Reserves match v WBA back in 1995 with Amokachi, Ablett, Angell et al en route to a college interview in Leeds. My point is this: I've watched, pretty intently, at least 4 or 5 Everton matches since January and there is a recurring theme in each of them; namely that Mr Seamus Coleman has the ability to change a game and more often than not he DOES change a game when is on the field of play. He was also one of the stars of pre-season, so for him not to even make the bench v Blackburn was a joke, surely?

I watched the Villa game last week. Like his debut v Spurs, Seamie showed more invention, imagination and incision in ten minutes, out of position, than Rodwell had shown in 70. Or Osman, Billy or whoever had done previously. My point is, yes, the man is green. He has his faults. But by God is he an unbelievable footballer. Moyes, you need to give him a chance. Seamie will not let you down.

Osman to start wide right against Man U if fit.

I pressed some buttons on "My First Calculator" and thats what it said.

No chance, Moyes said Ossie was MOTM (in centre mid) against Man United last season, and we can't forget the BLINDERS he played either side of that game too (Chelsea and Sporting).

Ossie at centre mid will be first on the team sheet next Saturday, bet you a fcuking tenner.

I did mention this idea in the Villa match thread. I noticed that he seemed much more liberated and effective when he first came on but when Hibbo went off and he had to start moves off from further back it took the sting out of his play a bit imo. I'd like to see Moyes give him a go there. If not from the start at least as a sub (early please) against tiring legs

I saw enough against Villa to believe he at least warrants a chance at right midfield. Better him bombing forward and delivering the crosses than Hibbert or Neville, who are better, at the moment, defensively.

At the mo our young mister Coleman is not up to the job of attacking full back YET, and thats a BIG YET, in defence he is not the full package.

now right midfield/winger on the other hand he stands out as the best we have got for the first time in some years we have some one who can play that position well, and it give us balance going forward.
for a long time we have depended on the left hook and jab, now we have a right hook to fear and can really work some combinations,
dont forget all those that we have had in that position are better and more comfortable in other areas of the park,
Anichebe=forward
Osman= centre mid (natural cover for Arteta )
Bily=centre mid (should be keeping Cahill out of the first team soon)
Rodders=centre mid (should be keeping everyone out of the first team soon)
pienaar and gueye = both better on the left midfield

New formation:

----Howard----
---------------
----Rodwell----
---------------

(y)

Moyesy on Seamus:

“Seamus is doing well and pushing all the time to get in the team,” Moyes said.

“We brought him on at Villa in midfield as we know he has the ability to get forward and we are short of a right sided player at the moment.

“But he’s always been a right-back. There is competition there with Tony Hibbert and Phil Neville but Seamus is progressing and is very close. He’s a great £60,000 buy.”

"The one thing Seamus has got on his side is he is young as a footballer, not like 17 years old, but he’s come from Sligo and is not completely up to the full speed of the Premier League and what’s expected. But he’s progressing and getting close.

"He’s a right-back but came on further up against Villa because he has abilities to get forward. We are short of a right-sided midfielder at the moment.

"Jack came off against Villa and he’d been on the right which is out of position for him, so we are looking for a solution there. Who knows? Seamus could be the one to give it a go there.

"I wouldn’t think it’s too big a leap for him to play there against United. He has that innocence. He’s come on in other big games but that’s always been at right-back.

"We have Bilyaltedinov and Osman who can play on the right, or I could switch Pienaar to the right and play Bily on the left."

You might be 3 times LMA manager of the year mate but simply putting a player out wide and letting him stink the gaff up every time he plays there doesn't mean he can play there.

So, judgement day, Evra is a quality left back, if Coleman plays we shall see just how he copes against the sharper end the prem has to offer. Hopefully he comes through well, but he does lack experience and positional nouse. Lets see.
