Coleman is my favorite player

Yeah, not closing down when he should, not knowing when to drop off and when to go tight. There was one moment when he got beat to a loose ball by a guy behind him who he hadn't noticed and Jags had to clean it up, that sort of thing.

I think I've made it clear that I rate the guy and I think he should be our first choice, but he's still got things to learn.

He's probably still played less than 20 games as an actual right back in Premier League so does still have lots to learn, and the best way to do that is by playing.

And while he's doing so he's making our right hand side about 5 times as effective than it was with Neville or Hibbert there in our overall game.

If after at leasta season, maybe 2 he's still making the same defensive errors we should look for an alternative. But by then it won't be Hibbert or Neville but if we don't play Coleman he won't improve so we'd have to get a new rb in but without trying the one we got for £60,000.

Seamus Coleman vs Tottenham

I love when he gets ready for those unstoppable runs, takes a touch and is almost falling over the ball before he takes off. At 3:39 you can see dempsey just give up and pretty much let him by.

That was one of the most important facets of our victory, Dempsey was mostly taken out of the game because he had to track back to hold off seamus. He forced Dempsey to hang out on the wing all game where he's not as comfortable (we saw what he can do from the centre of the pitch).

You can easily spot defensive errors, but its harder to quantify the benefit of the team in terms of less pressure endured on defense, and Coleman's attacking threat provides a lot of that. Given his age and how i'd expect him to develop, I would only be willing to trade him for one of the top right back's in the world.

He also seems to have a bit of Walcott/Lennon syndrome right now: he's typically the fastest player on the pitch, can easily dribble around one or two players, but his final ball is awful. The assist for Pienaar's goal was nice, but I'm pretty certain coleman was just trying to swing the ball in, and wasn't looking to pick out Pienaar. If he can improve the quality of his crosses and deliveries into the box, we could have a potential world class player on our hands.

I'm guessing he's benefited alot from tutelage given by Baines looking at his moves. I think he's progressed so much from last season where he, after a promising start, looked like he'd never be a player. The right back position suits him perfectly and having a proper winger in front of him (and sometimes Naisy) also gives him space to make those runs to. Love him. I can't believe how boss our side is at the moment with Howard being the only obvious weak link in our strongest eleven.

idk I think his end product has been pretty good so far this season.

No point having one dangerous side to your team or its easy to mark.. You put Pienaar and Baines on one and Neville and Naismith on the other.. Its pretty easy to stop.
Put Pienaar and Baines on one side and Mirallas and Coleman on the other with Fellaini and Jelavic in the middle linking play or getting on the end of the crosses... I certinaly wouldn't want to play against it.
Especially when a run from nowhere in behind the defence will more likely then not be hit by Gibson from the centre circle.
We have a great counter attack team there.. Problem comes when trying to break down a defence.. Its the same problem all teams have but Gibbo/Der Hammer thunderbolts aside, we will really struggle to get around a solid defence.

I also think he's boss. He tapped out last year at RM, but this year at RB he looks like he's learning every week and improving.

No wall as of yet, and I hope he doesn't hit it.

Excited to watch him again tomorrow - lately he's been one of our more exciting players to watch in addition to Mirallas.
