So instead of voiding one season you're just going to fundamentally alter the sporting calendar to suit a ridiculous desert world cup?

Nah.

The Qatar World Cup was going ahead in Winter 2022 anyway, you do realise this? Before Coronavirus, the sporting calendar was going to alter. It had to.

So either, they play the World Cup mid-season (which doesn't really suit anyone) or they alter the start and end dates of a couple of seasons before and a couple of seasons after.

You say 'Void' a season like it's an easy and obvious thing to do, it's laughable. Billions of pounds have been spent on sponsorship money, tickets, TV rights etc for a 38 game season. To move the season by 8-12 weeks for the sake of public safety, to allow that to continue as normal is much much easier than the alternative you're suggesting. It's a non-starter.

The Euro's will be pushed to 2021, leaving the summer months free to complete the remaining fixtures.

Can't see this happening mate. Unless we're well past the peak by the end of June, games would have to be played behind closed doors and clubs would have to effectively cut their staff off from society so they didn't keep picking up infections.

The league aren't going to make a decision to cancel in the next weeks, but it seems the most likely scenario.

The plan for the WC (which should never have been awarded but we are where we are) was to basically start two weeks early and finish two weeks late. It's a bonkers plan because the best players in the world will be absolutely run into the ground.

At least by scrapping this season you give them a decent rest.

Edit: If you do postpone into the summer, how are teams coping with players whos contracts are expiring on June the 1st?

They have to scrap the season now and void it all....must be going crazy on RAWK at the thought of the season being void.

anyway safety should come first and we don’t even know if this will be over in the next few months.

government reckon this will peak in the summer so when can the season finish ?
