ummm... no.

3 or 4 months back, I would have agreed and to an extent I do agree that all Martinez needs is a defensive coach like Dave Watson, Richard Gough etc.

However, the attacking football has even been non existent in recent months, never mind the defensive frailties.

....Dave Watson is at Newcastle I think. If he's their defensive coach I doubt he would help us much.

Big Nev said something the other day that got me thinking.

If Philip Carter was chairman, he would have told Bobby to get a defensive coach in to take him out of the firing line.

Our last two managers have has some great attributes and some appalling weaknesses. Their strengths totally complement each other.

If Moshiri got the two of them to sign a mutual protection pact - you get me fired, you are fired too - and the sat down to iron out their differences -we would have some Management Team.

Bobby convinces players to Join us. Good on youth. Great PR with media. Good attacking play.
Moysie the defensive organiser. Great Man to spot a bargain. Set pieces. Fitness.

They both openly profess their love for Everton.

If they could agree between themselves, it would beat Pellegrini any day of the week.

Never going to work in a million years, joint management wont work. Too many ego's to stroke, one man has to have the last say with team and tactics. Thats not going to be Martinez I'm afraid either.

Kendal & Harvey didn't do bad together
did they?

Absolutely mate - and wouldn't we all give our back teeth for that now!

I thought that the original question was suggesting that the double act was in some sort of joint manager type capacity as opposed to a manager and coach combination though???

There are plenty of manager/coach combo’s that have delivered in other clubs also.

I suppose we need to be really careful of Kenwright getting hold of the concept of a successful double act to lead us into the future otherwise we might end up with Ant & Dec in charge.

Yes. Even though Colin was Howard's coach he was also his assistant. Like Clough / Taylor.
I don't think you can have joint managers. One man needs to make the final decision

The RS will point out the Shankly, Paisley, Moran, Fagans combo's over the years

our own cloughie or taylor eh, which one will play the role of openly abusing a lad because is gay and help drive him to suicide, that clough, what a characater
Didn't he top himself after he retired? And was in no way connected with him being under investigation for sexually assaulting a minor?
