Well if you disapprove of what those "loons" (but mum they are different to me so they must be loons - non-activism 2019) did, which is basically follow the the protocol for protesting, ie disrupt, gain attention, make some noise, get people talking, dance a bit with a whistle, then you are incredibly easily offended. I bet you don't even live anywhere near a protest site and yet it offends you so much.
Meanwhile, big corporations thank you for ignoring their own behaviour (the cause of the protests) and are grateful you are following the divide and conquer rule where we turn on ourselves and ignore the powers that be. "I DON'T CARE THAT THEY ARE DESTROYING OUR PLANET THAT PROTESTER ONLY WORKS PART TIME AND WENT TO UNIVERSITY"

I actually don’t have a problem with you supporting them. In fact, if you truly believe their methods are effective, kudos to you. I’m actually not even that arsed to be honest.

BUT, if you can’t understand (or refuse to understand) why some turbo virgins boiling the piss of some poor commuters instead of going after the actual problem is concerning to some, you are part of the problem. You are lacking empathy towards these people whatsoever. In fact, it’s the sociopathic behavior of these people that boils their piss in the first place. The straw men, McCarthyism and false equivalencies demonstrate how detached from reality some people are.

TBH, I am not that arsed either, more saddened by total demonisation of a group of protesters based on nothing more than info spoon fed by the Murdoch press. As I said earlier, big corporations are loving this, watching us turn on each other whilst they carry on unabated. A lot of people think they are being clever citing the protestors as "privileged", jobless, dirty, off their faces" but they have no experience of who these people actually are, they just go by what the man before said.
All the while they diminish our ability to form constructive protests because they cannot think for themselves.

Who they are and what they are doing is not important but the press have you all treating them as axe murderers. Every protest has a negative effect on the immediate general public, that is the nature of it.

I can’t even argue whether or not being disruptive is effective. In fact, if you approached this issue a different way, I don’t think people would be opposing you as fiercely. Something like-

“I understand why people would take issue with the protesters, but sometimes you have to push the envelope because people don’t listen. If you try to take the rational approach, they don’t listen.”

I’d actually agree with that in a way. Sometimes being a knob is the way to make your voice heard. But you have to acknowledge that people would/should be upset or it becomes heated.

Don’t even argue for a second that loons, idiots carries the same weight as racist, sexist. Also, you can refer to anyone on this forum as a loon or idiot and it is a loose definition of the word. If I said communist, maybe you would have a point.

Also, once the argument starts getting into semantics, you might as well acknowledge you have nothing to argue.
