Christian Atsu

I still stand by my thoughts that Atsu is a really good talent that martinez has managed very poorly this year. How many games has he had a run in the team for? How many games has he played altogether? Given half the chance i think he may have proven himself to one or two people on here and i can see him going somewhere in the summer and really making a name for himself in the future.

shame as more games would have seen him ours.

His chance to make an impact was the Krasnador home game -- unfortunately he got an injury early on and then wasn't fit again for a number of weeks

...perhaps but he did disappoint on the times he was given an opportunity. It's ok blaming the Manager but points are important and it's up to the player to grab his chance when it comes. Also, perhaps he was poor in training.

It's up to the player to impress the manager not the other way around.
The comparision between Atsu and Deulofeu must be made.
Both came on loan to Everton at the very end of the summer transfer window.
Both were allowd time to settle in at the club.
One player forced his way into the team and now more than twelve months after returning to Spain he is probably the one player that most supporters would like the club to buy.

The other has drifted to obscurity at Everton , just as he did at Chelsea.
He seems a good lad and I think maybe not bloodyminded enough to play with a top premiership team..yet.
Maybe a season in the championship would benefit him. But, if he impressed the staff in training every day
he would get games, specially this year when our season cried out for a boost.

" For one reason or another, we haven’t been able to give him that continuity that you need "

Bobby we've had Pienaar, Mirallas, McGeady and Osman with extended weeks on the sidelines this season and all were out at the same time for weeks. Thats plenty of reasons to give him continuity i would think. Instead you played the likes of Naismith, Barkley and Lukaku out of position whilst he sat twiddling his thumbs. I'm sure Christian will read your comments and be puzzled by you saying he will be very special footballer, because there is nothing like a boost in confidence when you have 4 or 5 players on the treatment table, yet you choose the calibre of player in Steven Naismith out of position to deputise.

Perhaps so, we will never know and i hope if he isnt a chelsea player next season he isnt playing against us either.

I do believe if he played us us more this year we would have had first option on him now, clearly not going to be taken up by us.
