Christian Atsu

He was a gem for my FIFA 12' career mode squad. I took Reading FC to the champions league and he was a starter.

Clearly not the same calibre in real life.

Unfortunately he's been poor so far. He might become a decent player for us but there's no chance he'll make it at Chelsea.

He wont make it at Everton either IMO as he's already 21 and should be showing far more than he is. Maybe it's lack of game time but if it were my money, I would be looking elsewhere for a winger - and NOT at Tom Ince!

I'm not sure that he will ever be able to meet the required standard for who we want this team to become. He may have been a player we could use five or six years back, but now we are moving forward and we need players that will take our football to the next level. He isn't the answer. Not even close.

We are in a position now when we can demand impeccably gifted players and invest in potential that is already bearing fruit. If we are going to become the team we deserve to be, we need to bite the bullet with guys like Atsu and scatter them, replacing them with someone who will complement and improve the squad, not just make up the numbers. Quality, not quantity.

If he won't be good enough for Chelsea, he won't be good enough for us. Our standards must reflect our intent.

I hope he gets screened for Ebola on his return

I watched ACON qualifying at the weekend, Ghana v Uganda. Atsu was subbed off in 2nd half after doing absolutely nothing; although the game itself was quite poor as a whole. The lad who came on to replace him, David Accam looked quite lively and suddenly Ghana were more of a threat.

I had only just heard of Atsu before the world cup started and now after watching him for a few games, i think we can judge him now.

He's a bit crap
