If Pienaar won't sign a new deal and Bily isn't going to cut the mustard, I'd be keen to bring in Chris Brunt from West Brom. He's intelligent, hard working, creative and the right age. Plus, he's a 6 footer, so he'd give us presence in midfield. I'd imagine he'd cost something like £6m. Compared to the £5.5m we paid for Distin that would be a bargain.

N'Zogbia's going to be £10m+. Brum have more money than us and they couldn't lure him away from Wigan. Donovan might well cost £8m and is 28 already. Henderson will go to a bigger club than us, if he leaves Sunderland.

Jagielka, Lescott, Baines and Cahill were all a bit 'Championshippy'.

Brunt, Adam and Eagles have got to be more use to us than Bily, Heitinga and Osman currently are. A combined fee of about £7.5m? I'd put money on atleast one of them reaching Cahill status with us.

Can't believe he's only 24, I thought he was about 32.

Brunt sticks out at WBA because hes a cut above the rest of his team mates. Good player but wouldn't improve us imho. As previously pointed out Dorrans is the one. Charlie Adam is not all that.
