Current Affairs China blaming US Army for COVID-19

Might make right...and nobody has the bottle to stand up to their hardnosed (bullying) stance...on a lot of things, not just Covid.
But one day, somewhere, on some topic, somebody, hopefully should (will?) - if it can be done without blowing up the Planet that is
Which is the problem and what they bank on, pushing it here and there on 'small' things.
It's not a new concept and well quoted but they do like to play a Long Game
If governments want to F China right up just ban them importing all their cheap crap to the UK and US...

The problem is that the US and UK governments aren't going to shoot themselves in the foot like that, because elections exist and the resulting job losses would be a good way to lose the next one resoundingly.

Just as concerning is the notion of destablilizing the government of a nuclear power in such a manner. Putting the PRC's leadership into a position where they have nothing to lose is a very risky proposition.

Propaganda is a powerful but dangerous tool.

The present level of saber-rattling by China is starting to get dangerous. It says to me that the folks on top over there think they're seated somewhat precariously on their throne, and that they'd rather risk a war with the United States than risk being unseated. It says to me that they think they can win.

That's not happening in blue water, and I don't think they're getting across the Taiwan strait unless we're really stupid about it, but there is a decent chance that they can win a land war in their house. I could spitball some near-future sci-fi about how they do that, though the good story that I have rattling around inside my head relates to an actual invasion. I had not thought about that one in a bit. It seems more feasible than it did several years ago, when it started kicking around my head.
And we cann all thank god for that, China and the USA having a full blown war in the middle of Kent would have a terrible impact on the UK. They've already got lorry queues to deal with

There is the small problem of Article 5 of NATO, should such hostilities occur. As you say, that beats having the fight in your own living room.

Turns out that America was spending $$millions outsourcing dodgy banned germ research to Wuhan.
(And outsourcing banned animal research to Africa.)

Not really sure what you were expecting. Capital flows to the countries offering the lowest tax rates. Research flows to the countries with the most lax ethical standards. It's a race to the bottom either way.

Did China not get the the memo when it was unequivocally concluded that the virus could only have possibly derived naturally, and that any talk of lab leaks was only for tin foil hat wearing conspiracy theorists?

USA, out sourced virus work to Wuhan Virus Labs
Wuhan (allegedly) let Covid escape...coque-up or deliberately? - who know's, but I always go with coque-up over conspiracy.
And, just who this escaped virus originally belonged to is, as yet, unknown.
US intelligence (oxymoron alert) got warnings, in Oct / Nov, but didn't think it was serious (9/11? ja vu)

Oh and...more conspiracy theory...The World Military Games were in Wuhan Oct 2019.
Italy and Iran...both early hot spots...send 200+ teams
As did the US Army, nearest US mainland lower 48 airport to China is Seattle...another early January hot spot.
