Mentioned in the Doucoure thread then
- potentially Doucoure, davies, holgate, mina, James, Coleman all out at the same time.

Cant go to places like Stamford Bridge with that sort of injury list and expect to get 3 points. Would be our biggest win of the season if we managed 3 points tomorrow.

I thought Carlo said Seamus, Davies and James will be fit.

A difficult game will be extremely difficult if it does turn out Doucoure is out injured. I'd be surprised if Holgate plays as he definitely looked like he tweaked something. Rumours about Davies and James missing again and it's going to be a tough one.

But it ain't the first time and Carlo always seems to get a team together who can compete.

Hopefully we get a bit of good news tomorrow.

This is the problem and difficulty in trying to get into the top 6. They all have much deeper squads than the other teams. City,Utd, Chelsea and Spurs all have deep squads, and they look like filling 4 of the top 6 places. Fair play to Leicester, they've been plagued with injuries but have stayed up there. We need to keep Richarlison and DCL fit. We can cobble together in most areas, but not up front.

The good news is we still have a solid back line available. Allan sitting and if needs be just have to play Gomes & Sigurdsson in midfield 3 at least hopefully until Davies is back. James hopefully will be back as well. With Richy & DCL in the side we always have a chance. Let’s get through this game hopefully get more back for the next and then recover for the international break.
Gomes and Siggy dont work as a midfield duo

Nkounkou just here to make up the numbers I think. Lad hasn’t had a sniff since West Ham cup game I think..... think Digne could do a job for us there though at CB.
Nkounkou is the one I would definitely play as a left sided midfielder against Mnachester City.having watched the game agaisnt Man Utd today he could cause all sorts of problems with his pace and crossing abiility providing the sort of service DCL and Richy could thrive on

Win this and we gotta be favourites for top four finish?

Not really. Chelsea will be tough to outpoint as long as they continue barely conceding. Closing the gap with Leicester or United will require a bit of help.

It would put us in excellent position to make Europe, as Tottenham's run-in is rough and that other team appears spent.

We probably either need to find some more goals or learn to be more consistent in locking up our own goal to make top 4. That's entirely possible, but is probably the less likely outcome.

The good news is that the rest for our South American players is exceedingly well timed.

Jordan Pickford is a certainty between the sticks while the centre-back partnership of Michael Keane and Ben Godfrey will look to keep Olivier Giroud and Timo Werner in check. The returning Coleman should replace Mason Holgate at right-back while the dangerous Lucas Digne should continue out on the left.

Allan had a good impact on the game after coming on as a substitute against West Bromwich Albion and should start here in the defensive midfield role. Abdoulaye Doucore, with his work-rate and box-to-box qualities, should be a certain starter while Gylfi Sigurdsson also starts after making a difference coming on from the bench last time out.

The returning James Rodriguez should slot in on the right flank although he will constantly look to veer into central areas and pull the strings for Everton. On the opposite side, Richarlison, who scored the only goal of the game against West Brom is a certainty and so is Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the centre-forward slot.

Probable Lineup (4-3-3): Pickford; Coleman, Keane, Godfrey, Digne; Doucoure, Allan, Sigurdsson; Rodriguez, Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison
