Gueyes early booking didn't help us, it restricted his natural game and made us more vulnerable. Excessive moaners on here need to remember we were playing the champions, who were smarting after their defeat by Burnley, and we would have to have been at our best to expect any kind of result...difficult with Sneids banned,Gueye restricted, Sandro obviously not fully fit, Rooney playing his third game in 6 days, Siggy not up to speed, and both veteran centre backs overplayed in recent days (Jags was almost MOTM in a couple of games recently, but needs a break every third game or so.) Besic plays better when our backs are against the wall, and he did well today. Needs to do it for 90 mins, but there is definite hope for him. DCL continues to impress and Koeman is handling him correctly regarding game time. Ironically, GazBaz would have been useful today!. Not too much moaning please, theres a long way to go!
Gave MOTM to Mo Besic...there IS a footballer in there, hiding inside the hooligan !

Well at least we've exactly matched what we got in the corresponding games last season.... without Lukaku.

4-4-2 is a must against Spurs

Kenny-Keane-Jags (or newb)-Baines
DCL-Sig-Gueye-Kev
Rooney-???

...didn't see the game but it sounded like it mattered to Rooney so got my vote.

I really don't like playing 3 CBs. For me it indicates the 2 are not good enough, I also think it doesn't suit Keane. Two wing backs who don't bomb forward means it's all so negative. RK's tactics confuse me at times, but I just want to see my team provide a real threat. Too often we pose no threat at all.
WTF..I didnt see the game either so i'll give it to Miralles

I very much hope Schneiderlin is part of the Spurs lineup...

Chelsea and City play 3 at the back as much for it's offensive attributes as the defensive. We seem to play it to get an extra man in defence. Would probably be different if we had a proper attacking full back like Coleman on the pitch. Baines needs players in front of him to work off and he doesn't have that in this formation, so we end up with a flat back 5, overrun in midfield, and surrendering territory to the opposition.

..absolutely, Fred.

Thanks @AndyC . I missed the game so appreciate that excellent preview. Does not sound like we were up to much. Predicted a 2 or 3 nil loss so 'meh' really.
We need to concentrate on the Europa imo...we'll finish 7-10th in the PL
You missed nothing but a RK nightmare in tactics - absulutly polarising!
Don't mind the odd defeat , but not in that fashion pure rubbish the blame is with the manager
