We lost thats it, next game please. We are still on course for Europe. 6th-8th is an Improvement from last years. We obviously need to buy January. Goaler not good enough, he saves some impossible ones but as against Burnley is to blame for others

we lost that's it, next game please; aka It doesn't really matter...well maybe it doesn't in the grand scheme of things. But in EFC / Footballing terms, it's 'kin seismic - or it should be to all and sundry, Board, Management, Players and last but not least - The Fans.

Then we have 'Koeman will've learned'...He 50 'kin 3...If he can't spot a gash player, an unfit player, a bottle-less player by now??
If he doesn't know what to do with them, in both the short and long term, then he's not learned jack and he's stealing 6M P.A.

He's just seen the good ship Everton given a Jaws type seeing to...I think we need a bigger war chest.

Chelsea did play well but we helped them by being very poor. They played to their strengths while we played to our weaknesses. We had no mid-field but we tried to press them. We played with three centre backs who are slow. Our one weapon Lukaku's was isolated.
Really poor day.

Chelsea put in the best performance a team has done so far this season.

We put in one of the worst.

Koeman got it wrong from the start - in hindsight - by trying to match up with them.

I don't see that as the reason we got battered like.

Loads of silly errors from Barry. Two stupid mistakes from Stek.

Funes Mori and Jagielka put in two of the worst defensive displays going.

What yesterday did more than anything was show the average players we have in support of a decent first-team.

Unfortunately, we weren't in a position in the summer to go and get top-quality squad players.

As Koeman said though, we were taught a lesson in every aspect of football yesterday.

It's all about how the team come back from it now. The break has now come at the worst-possible time IMO, and Goodison won't be a happy place against Swansea in two-weeks time.

They ALL need to step up.

The only positive is that Davies came in for half-an-hour and played well. Unless McCarthy is fit, I think he'll start alongside Gueye in a few weeks.

I honestly thought we'd get battered, and we did.

I was pretty sure of this because Chelsea have much better players than us.

I think maybe too many fans on here actually thought we would somehow win this game, and are staggered and angry we didn't, hence the barrage of "blame", "where are heading", "Moshiri fraud.." etc threads.

Didn't see them last week.

It's still crap, and we all still love Everton.

Come on Everton you mighty average blue shirted hero players..

Good for you, Muggins

Yes, quite a number who are just not good enough plus showing that age is becoming a factor with some of them.

Off the top of my head, a few players that need moving on in the next two windows (January is the worst time for squad overhaul so that's not going to happen):

- Mirallas
- Cleverley
- Funes Mori (we need better IMO, he's just useless once he's made a mistake)
- Oviedo (same as Funes)
- Lennon (don't mind him but, need better)

Throw in the likes of Jags, Barry and Stek due to age.

The game started at 4.30am here. I woke up at about ten to five, turned the radio on which was tuned to the BBC World Service
at exactly the moment that they said Chelsea had scored two goals in a minute and were leading 2-0. I didn't bother getting up.

When I did get up a couple of hours later I went online hoping to see that we'd at least scored. I haven't bothered watching it.

I might watch the highlights in a day or two but I don't really have the stomach for it. Very disappointing.

Couldn't agree more. There are so many question marks against so many players within our team. Even arguably the 'strength' of our team - the full backs (Coleman and baines) are considered average by many with their performances. This isn't a knee jerk reaction, but now it is time for koeman to look at the under 23s, whilst we are still out of the transfer window. It is staggering holgate has been dropped when he's barely put a foot wrong this season, Tom Davies and Liam Walsh should be around the first team, if not starting then certainly on the bench. I'm happy in the main with koeman's signings Stek (only as back up) Williams (solid defender) Gana (our best signing) and bolasie (some good moments but still finding his feet). It is apparent watching koeman on the touch line and how frustrated he is, many of our team are either not implementing the style of play he wants OR they aren't good enough to adapt to the style of play he wants.

First time I've ever left a match early yesterday. Our game plan was obviously to soak up the pressure and hit them on the counter attack but it just didn't happen. Chelsea's movement and pressing made us uncomfortable and those 2 (very avoidable) quick goals completely threw our game plan out of the window.

Fair play to Koeman for trying to change it before half time but it was too late by then, our heads had dropped and Chelsea were far superior is every aspect. We couldn't get the ball off them and when we did we just gave it straight back.

We will lose games, sometimes we'll be unfortunate, sometimes you've got to hold your hands up and say 'fair play, they outplayed us', but losing in the manner we did yesterday is unacceptable. There was no spark, no control, no shape and worst of all, the effort was lacking.

Koeman has 2 weeks now to work on sorting it out and I want to see a big reaction against Swansea.
