I’m sure the referee for this one will be an Andrei Chelskikov recently seen driving a new Rolls Royce back from Stamford Bridge where he is a season ticket holder in Abramovic’s personal box. The league will of course see no conflict of interests with him or Frank Lampard who will be VAR’s guest controller.

I think you’ll find that VAR has largely not been our friend this season.

Chelsea move the ball very well, but there are too many 'nearly' passes with them, and it's not too difficult to restrict them to half-chances and pot shots. Also, like we saw at Goodison, they're vulnerable to being pressed into errors at the back, especially while overplaying between their goalkeeper and defenders.

I would expect that Richarlison and Calvert-Lewin will be able to harry them into giving up chances, but then there are also going to be a number of storms to weather due to Ancelotti conceding the centre of the park, where Chelsea have a lot of quality.

I hope it's Holgate and Gomes in midfield.

We'll have to play better than we did there today. I thought we were atrocious first half and then only became a presence second half by cluelessly bungling our way to a series of corners.

There was no opening up a defence or stretching the opposition with decent passing.

TBH, last two games against 'big' opponents (and they're the low hanging fruit of the elite clubs) we've seen the level we're at. The players have been found out.

worst .Assessment .ever.
If we had won 4-0 you would have criticised that it wasn’t 5,some fan you are

You're easily pleased. We were an embarrassment in that first half. A United team in transition showed us how to pass and construct meaningful moves while our lot fell apart and ran round like headless chickens.

Season over if we don't win this one. We've wasted two precious opportunities in our last two six-pointers. We could realistically have had 6 points, but we got 1. A third failure in a row here and it'll be game up for this season.

Siggurdsson & Davies are a shambles in midfield.

Get Holgate in there alongside Gomes with Bernard out wide.
