I was in the West stand yesterday, as soon as the ball went forward i said to my son hes offside, and im only a sunday league ref, if i could see it why couldn't a so called professional assistant. We played some good stuff yesterday but poor decisions by players and officials, a deflection and a bent ref with bad time keeping cost us...we are not getting the results our attacking football deserves.

That must of been rubbish when the decision wasn't given. I was in this case fortunate enough to be away from all media sources so didn't see the result until much later. I couldn't bear to watch the highlights..

:(

I was in the uni library and jumped up and shouted "GET THE FECK IN!" when our third went in.

I feel your pain.

*disclaimer one word my have been a touch more colourful when I actually shouted

Rich clubs being the propaganda darlings of Murdoch's Sky are the cancer in the PL
Brian Glanville writing in the Sunday Times, another Murdoch organ referred to Terry's 98th minute goal as "possibly offside".
He quotes Martinez and Hiddink extensively but doesn't call it for what it was
If he knows the rules of Association Football he knows it wasn't "possibly"
This is the quality of football journalism that will allow Martinez to be fined for publicly outing cheating officials but not ask any hard questions of referees, the FA etc
That's how Blatter lasted for so long and it's only a matter of time until we hear of rigged matches in FIFA tournaments replace rigged voting for the tournaments
How much are results influenced by or even determined by the power brokers of the PL

Brian Glanville did have more to say about the goal! He goes on to say;

But, in the eighth minute of stoppage time, they equalised with a disputed and disputable goal. Everton's manager Roberto Martinez had no doubt about it - for him Terry was a couple of yards offside when he beat Howard to equalize. "Unfortunately we are on the end of very bad decisions," he lamented.

He ends his report;

"John was half a yard offside but he made a beautiful goal," said the Dutchman [Hiddinck]. To which one can reply only that the beauty lies in the eye of the beholder.

I feel as flat as any of you, but most of us are complaining about the wrong thing. Sure, Terry was offside and that is beyond argument.
The officials were incompetent, end of.

However, I think you've got it wrong about the added time. I've replayed the critical parts of the second half and play was held up
for 3minutes and 50 seconds for Oviedo's injury, and there were four goals and several substitutions up to FM's 'winner'. So, I've no
problem with the seven minutes.

Now, when FM scored exactly on 90 minutes play didn't restart for 1 minute and 20 seconds following the celebration. That has to be
added to the 7 minutes accrued at the end of normal time. Terry 'scored' at 7. 50 odd.

We were robbed, yes, but only because a last minute offside goal was allowed. That's all.

Yeah makes sense.

I think I'm more annoyed that it was offside anyway to be honest.

As frustrating and thoroughly cheated out of a victory we where, watching highlights of the games over the weekend only cemented how far behind we are of the clubs above us in our 1st choice keeper position.

That 1st Chelsea goal was pub level.

Watching Butland, Cech, De Geah amongst countless others is so frustrating.
The save Robles made against De Bruyne in the cup was what I have wanted to see all season. A 30-70 chance go the way of the Everton keeper.

Our league position is scandalous with the talent in the squad.

It's about consistency though mate. Terry went and celebrated with the fans and didn't get a booking as Mori did, when it should be an automatic yellow. The ref also did not add on anymore added time on top of that for the near 2 minutes that Chelsea celebrated.

So, why did he add the time for our celebrations? It shouldn't work like that - the rules of the game are that stoppage time is allocated based on the stoppages within 90 minutes - not in injury time itself.

Disgraceful performance and an absolute joke of a linesman. Martinez will pick up a fine for his comments, but if Mike Jones and his team are reffing in the Premier League this coming weekend I'll be very surprised.

And yet we're still only four points from where realistically you could expect us to finish (7th). There's plenty of time left, IF, we can get a run together.
