Transfer Rumour Che Adams

Yeah I did and I've also consistently said that we do him no favours by playing the way we do with him. On paper he was a decent backup for DCL to offer something different when I assumed Lampard was going to play a bit more attacking football, which he said. Maupay isn't suited at all to being an out and out Calvert Lewin replacement, Adams is more suited to that though.
being not suited to how a team plays is no excuse to miss constant one on one chances like maupay does , and adams isn’t
known for being a good finisher either , he might prove me wrong and i hope he does but we’re in desperate need of goals and this fella
i don’t think is gona solve that problem

Seriously though!?
The number of times I've watched Adams and thought 'At least we don't have him' is numerous

I thought this thread was a joke. Unbelievable. Southampton fans must be laughing their heads off thinking a team is actually willing to pay money for Che Adams let alone £12 million. I.e., Brighton fans this time last year re Maupay.

So hacked off wasting my time with this clown show of a football club.

Look we’ll have to agree to disagree. For my opinion Maupay is clearly a player who’s confidence is absolutely gone and ultimately he’s of no use to Everton anymore, it’s happened to better strikers too in fairness. However at no point last year in the process of playing him did we give him anything to work with, especially compared to how he was with Brighton.

With Adams because of how he’ll play he’ll be much more involved. He’s 100% not the solution to the goal problem with his own scoring numbers but if he can get 10 g/a while helping the likes of Danjuma, Harrison and Doucoure get into goal scoring positions like Calvert Lewin would then they’ll probably be able to add 5 goals each as well.

We’ve had the same problem since Lukaku, people want one player to replace the 25 goals he’d get whereas realistically we’d have to target 3 or 4 players getting 30 goals between them.

This is where it all falls down for you.

We don't score goals from ANYWHERE in the team.
We need a goal scoring striker.

Have done for 2 seasons & it results in a relegation battle.
We don’t score goals anywhere because we don’t have a focal point to being the attack up the pitch. That’s my point.

It’s why I’ve said we could go for Chris Wood, Weghorst or literally any old big lump of a player and see immediate improvements in the amount of goals we score because they’d have a presence that could push the team forwards, enabling wingers to get more space and get into more goal scoring or creating opportunities.

You’re conflating not having Calvert Lewin the last 2 years with missing out on Calvert Lewin’s individual goals whereas I’m trying to argue that by not having him we miss a player of his style of play on the pitch to help the rest of the team. It doesn’t take an out and out goalscorer to fix this team’s problems.
