2025/26 Charly Alcaraz

Muscle injuries maybe Hamstring problems same with Tim - Eggs tried to tell you on the HA thread .....

…..I was referring to players coming in and performing well, pushing Alcaraz down the pecking order.

Alcaraz still offers something different and might be useful if we’re chasing a goal, but as far as starting games I’d think he’s behind KDH, Armstrong and maybe Rohl.

Don't understand what Moyes has against him. Always gave 100% and a threat around the box.
We are playing a slightly different way this season and he doesn't fit into the system, I'm surprised how many can't see this. There is probably still a place for him in the squad but he isn't starting games anytime soon.

Our first signing in last summers window, a player who doesn`t fit into the system we play, great planning Everton recruitment team.

I noticed on here that when a player in a position starts doing well, posters will go to ridicule another player in said position. Happens with Keane now Obrien is CB, happens with Beto/Barry rotationally, now Armstrong and Rohl are playing well Alcaraz is plop.
He's a bloody useful option to have it the squad, as Eggs says he offers something chasing a goal, he creates chances and is enterprising going forward. It doesnt always come off, but he cost nothing in today's market. I'd rather have him around than not.

The manager has the final say as he reiterated again the other day, you would have to ask him about that. As I said there is a place for him in the squad just not as a starter, last season when we played more on the counter he did well for a short run of games whereas this one we are trying to have a bit more possession and it doesn't suit him. Its always good to have options.

I like him as a player & think he offers things some the others don’t.

But it does feel like Moyes just isn’t having him.

So with the likes of Rohl & Armstrong coming through, it just feels inevitable that Alcaraz may be moved on.

Especially when they’d most likely get at least what they paid for him back. Let’s not forget player trading to stay right side of the laws is still required, and maybe they’ll think Alcaraz is disposable…

It would have been very useful to have him available in January. I can understand the reservations but I think he'll have some positive matches for us again and we'll at least get our money back for him if he doesn't quite make it.
