2025/26 Charly Alcaraz

It would have been very useful to have him available in January. I can understand the reservations but I think he'll have some positive matches for us again and we'll at least get our money back for him if he doesn't quite make it.
Only 18months left on his contract, so if you want money back you need to be moving him on in the summer.
If Moyes does want him as a squad option than we would need to offer a new deal to get any long term cash through the door.

This AFCON period would have been the time to make himself a vital part of the squad and unfortunately he’s missed the whole thing.
True and as a few others have said, he's going to find it difficult to get minutes ahead of the likes of Armstrong, Tim and even McNeil with the likes of the first team members returning from AFCON and injuries.

Ok, but another weird business. Like Dibling's. Big money on the bench and still without a proper right back
We need a bench though, mate. Glaring issues in other areas doesn’t mean that having capable deputies in midfield is a bad thing.

Charly has been far too inconsistent to warrant a place ahead of KDH, and Armstrong and Rohl have both looked safer bets in the short time they’ve been in the team.

Charly is one of the best players we have for always looking to drive forward, but generally that’s easier for him as a sub against tired legs.
