He played the previous week when we were chasing a goal and I didn't read any dissenting voices then. Maybe asking a footballer to the absolute bare minimum in 5 whole minutes of being on the pitch isn't a major ask?
It was different game with its own aspects and he should of actually been on the pitch sooner , as a player who has attacking qualities he should be playing in a game chasing goals and maybe not when we're defending a lead against a very attacking team

Maybe don't throw on a player with zero match fitness to preserve a lead , Moyes doesn't actually use subs in strategic way , only thinks of it as my starters are tired or injured and I need a body
Bizarre outlook. Clearly there’s a fair few in here who are anti-Moyes, you can’t tell me you need match fitness to remember to stop someone having a free shot on goal.

He’s played football since he could walk, it’s just pure bone idleness. He lacks a lot of game intelligence, even the most basic moments. That said; he’s been severely misused this season IMO.

You can’t tell me you need match fitness to remember how to play though ffs.

Maybe the plan was to bring on a player who’s clearly good on the transition to help us get up the pitch and counter effectively? Also someone who usually tries to press a bit from the front and can put himself about?

Five minutes mate, five. It's an absolutely insane take to tell everyone that a player can't do the bare minumum for five minutes because he's not had minutes for a few months.

He’d put Patterson on too. And Armstrong had come on to the pitch.

I’m guessing you’d have also complained if he’d put Coleman on as a number 10 to replace the knackered KDH.

It’s very clear to me you are someone that has never kicked a ball at any level.

To personally attack me is pretty low yeah I've played the game, go back to whinging about the supposed poor recruitment me made over the summer and how Moyes is infallible. Maybe he should of made subs sooner something he never does because he runs his preferred players to the ground

There's some bonkers takes in here. Lacking match practice means you might be a bit rusty with your touch and you might tire early, it doesn't mean you can't do your job for 5 minutes. Not sure whether everyone's also forgotten that he's missed a lot of games through injury. He hasn't just been ignored for months on end, he's hardly been available for the last 4 or 5 months.

To be fair I think its a point - Alcaraz would have pressed/offered some snide. Hed have had the sense to take it to the corner flag unlike what we tried to do.

I said "yikes" to the sub in the match thread/he was brought on to waste time - silly time to do it, as it shown.

Can't agree with that first statement, mate. The second is certainly debatable.

A professional should know what's needed to see out a game, and if he's dialed in, knows that Doku was a monster all game and was their biggest threat. Don't know if it's lack of football IQ or what it is, but he has to know he has to close him down in that spot

I don't have a (big) problem with what he did on the counters

Oh that wasn’t an attack mate, it was an observation. The recruitment WAS poor - didn’t solve the right back issue, we still lack pace, we left ourselves with a small squad by today’s standards - ultimately that knocked us out of the cup.

And the actual signings were a mixed bag by any standards. Weird if you would dispute that tbh.

I’ve never said Moyes was infallible, he’s baffled me at times. You genuinely believe he just puts subs on without thinking what they can/can’t contribute?
