2025/26 Charly Alcaraz

We’re not at our most dangerous ever, which is a topic for a very specific different thread.

But also it’s Arsenal! That’s their whole thing!
We are clearly at our most dangerous when we win the ball back in the opposition half high up. We are still not a team that is gonna play through your lines and play you off the park.

That’s obviously something Moyes is trying to add but we are still better at winning the ball high and hurting teams in transition.

Yeah which should have presented more opportunities than it did. In fairness they are obviously excellent but our press was nonsensical from them two and McNeil at times. Lots of running for running’s sake.

The idea that we were going to turn Arsenal over a bunch is funny to me. Our press isn’t all that good even when all the guys who are “good” at it play. We don’t create that much in that way (we don’t create that much in any way). I’m not saying that what you’re saying here isn’t what we should be trying to do. It is. But we really aren’t.

I don’t think you really watch us very often if that’s the case. Ndiaye and KDH have ridiculously high numbers of turnovers in the opposition third.

I went back to last season because illy and kdh are always in this season's lineup when fit!

I'm getting off this topic for a bit, it's got to heated.

Simple answer, if we had a strong squad, we wouldn't see him being used not to his strengths or thrown in different positions, and than we wouldn't be debating it.
