2024/25 Charly Alcaraz

Yeah - it's weird really.

Was only when I saw before hed just turned 22, that we've actually got quite a few younger players on our books now.

Branthwaite
O'Brien
Alcaraz
Garner
Ashley Young
NDiaye
Patterson

and on the fringes

Chermiti & Armstrong

Quietly gone and fixed the huge problem we have. Truly encouraging.

Lindstrom is only 24 as well, Myko I think is 25, oh and you left of Iroegbunam who only turned 21 a few weeks ago.

I see what you did there.

Brilliant.

Good players though they were, I hope he has more goals in him than either of them

They were both excellent players and came up with goals and assists from predominantly wide areas.

Although he hasn’t been overly prolific in his short career to date his performance vs palace last night on his full debut, away from home and playing in a team down to the bare bones does give cause for optimism.

Be a cracking player for us Iroegbunam if we can keep him fit.

Lindstrom been much better since the managerial shift, but didn't include him because I'm not sure we keep him on, unless we get him for absolutely peanuts.

But there's definitely a change in philosophy. Lots and lots younger players now establishing their way with a good few senior heads.

I don't think this will be a false dawn either. I'm thrilled for Beto too.

Still early days but technically very good. Like Ndiaye has great balance and plays off both sides comfortably. Will get better with PL matches and only 22 years old. Reminds me of Tim Cahill the way he moves and his willingness to mix it plus give everything for the shirt. Shrewd signing and Thelwell deserves credit for seeing the opportunity.

Said before he kicked a ball hed be a fan favourite, but even I'm surprised at how much he's adored already.

Was excellent for Southampton, and if Palace was anything to go by, he may well be excellent for us too.

Still 22 too. Nothing less than a truly exciting signing. Was fantastic yesterday.

A brilliant signing and great yesterday but struggled against the RS (understandable)

Lol at including Patterson in that list. He's not shown anything for us in over 50 games and will surely be off in the summer. And you missed 21 year old Tim arguably our best prospect..

You read the list and your observation was Patterson, and not Ashley Young? 😂

It still is very early days, and he wouldn’t be the first player to be massively overhyped off the back of a few games. However, I believe his buy clause, which could become mandatory, is only in the range of 15 - 17 million, or thereabouts. At present, that seems like very good value.

I personally felt that the lack of goals from Pienaar and Arteta given their positions and roles in the team was one of the weaknesses of that team and those Moyes teams. We tended to rely too much on the strikers, Cahill or later Fellaini and none of those sources were prolific enough.
