A massive upgrade on Doucoure it appears. He can control the ball and make a pass, he looks like he is a player with lots of running as well. Early days, but, I can see him becoming a fan favourite here.
Garner, Ndiaye, Alcaraz. There's some vision in this midfield. Vision that can pick AND hit the pass.

What I'd give to get Lukaku back to hit 50+

I think there's Tim Cahill, with better technique, and not the same aerial dominance here.

Alcaraz' best skill, according to many, is timing his runs late into the box to score. That is pure Cahill. I'm not sure Timmy would have threaded today's ball through to Beto quite as perfectly, though. The finish from the goal mouth scramble today had all the hallmarks of one of the many times Cahill opportunistically utilised his anticipation and desire to bundle the ball over the line.

He seems to also have the high work rate, determination, passion and commitment to pressing that Timmy possessed.

Equally fiery, Cahill was very adept at toeing the line between aggression and not being sent off. Whether he will be just as successful in finding that line is another question. I note Carlos was sent off for Southampton in a "friendly" v Lazio.

His style suits Moyes' tactics, if he can be half the player Cahill was, we will have found a rough diamond indeed.
Spot on. His pass for Beto's goal looked 'easy', but plenty of players don't get those quite right

I think it demonstrates just how bad our players have been recently that we're surprised someone showed an iota of composure to finish something you'd expect any player to finish, but often don't.
Reckon you either have it and own it in the moment or don't.
Doucs it likely to lash or snatch at that, maybe score a worldy. Alcatraz with a bit of sublime did what was needed.
Garner lacks power in the shot and Gana is well, Gana.
Good to have him on board.
