Will be padded a bit by playing for the team that eventually came 4th - regardless, a kid putting up numbers like that age 20 in the Championship is always worth a good strong look. Loan with buy option for half a season seems great to me.

People giving Thelwell a lot of stick it seems but this feels like a smart, low-risk gamble with a potentially big upside. Honestly in our position re: PSR etc., that's what you want from a January window.

Actually think he's better being bedded in from the bench the first 3 or 4 games. Doucoure has been awful this season, but the last game he was excellent, back to his best. Doucoure will never be easy on the eye, but I can see these two competing for the same place, nothing wrong with healthy competition.

No sorry I’m not having it and I don’t care what the stats are, but winning games without Doucoure isn’t a sign of progression, it’s an utter disgrace he’s playing every week in the premier league and is a reflection of where we’ve been when we consider someone as poor as Doucoure as valuable he’s one of the players who’s added to our downfall not helped, again regardless of what the stats suggest he’s utter rubbish. Welcome Alcaraz if he has anything about him he will keep Doucoure out the side
