Ghost re read my post i was talking about our injuries and to key players!
And you have only just workrd out we are not good enough for the champions league?

Jesus Christ:huh:

A bit of realism is needed, the same players have been playing for ages and a game like this has been coming. They are tired, we are missing key players (Cahill, Yakubu, Arteta, Yobo) in key positions and the squad doesn't have the depth needed.

If anything it's down to lack of investment, you can only work with what you've got.

What's your point?

There's no one else in the team that can create anything bar him.

If he's not getting used correctly or the team isnt working - like today - he's not going to be affective with Arteta out.

The same accusations (sp) were pointed at Arteta when he was below par on the right.

We havent had a good balance in the centre of the midfield since Arteta was injured. Moyes found out Cahill did a good job there. He's out but there are plenty of players that we have that can play in a 4-5-1 formation - Pienaar and Ossie can always tuck inside. But they're not so we're relaying on them to work wonders on the wings. You stop them, the team doesnt work.

Well if we had won today we would have been 1pt away from top 4, with the possibility of the other sides dropping points. Now we have to look over our shoulder at the sides coming from 7th onwards.

Key players or not, we should have won this game. We had enough quality out there to win the game.

A midfielder who combines excellent passing and vision with an eye for goal, That's what the OS says about Osman.

We have a young 17 year old attacking midfielder who is itching to get on and show what he can do. Well we all know what he can do, so why is Moyes struggling with himself? Always always playing the percentages, but when it comes down to the business end - we fall short.

Losing to Man U, Chelsea and Arsenal I can accept, even to Liverpool I grudgingly accept. But losing to a side languishing at the bottom, with a make shift line up, well it's just criminal.

Plus the goals we conceded were shocking.

Nah, not even in CM. Just not a man for all seasons.

Last season - majority played in central midfield, rock solid player who had great games, scored goals, created.

This season - majority of games on the right wing, hasnt worked, been poor.

Dont you see a problem there?

I'm not denying you've got a good point. But he's a midfielder, I've seen him play well all over midfield, and I have seen him play poorly too. At the moment he is not doing it.

I don't think he is ever going to be a regular in CM. Otherwise why spend £12m on midfielder?

I thought we wouldn't miss Arteta? I remember someone being very confident that we'd kick on and wouldn't have problems finding our balance.:D

I agree. But for this season, at this moment in time with the injuries the team has...why play him out wide?

I agree he's been poor but the biggest reason is because he's not a winger, especially in a 4-4-2 or a midfield with 2 defensive midfielders.

We need a winger more than a central midfielder IMO.

How much would a pacy out and out winger would add to the team?

we can find balance. Moyes aint trying hard enough. he has a squad of players who can play in different positions. Positions are needing to be filled but he wont put players there.

After we beat Wigan and Villa all will be rosy going into the semi final right?

Football.

You win some, you lose some.

Sure the performance today was awful and worth criticising.

But sometimes you lose to teams you think you should beat and sometimes you beat teams you think you would lose to.

**** happens.

And as long as that **** is isolated incidents (which it is, 1 loss to Portsmouth and i to Man U in soemthing like 4 months) soemtimes you just have to accpet it and move on.

I'm sure some will give the usual waffle of being happy in defeat etc etc but its looking at the bigger picture.
