Dwain Chambers has failed in his high Court appeal to allow him to run in the Olympics in Beijing.
British 100m champion Chambers had gone to the High Court to seek an injunction against the British Olympic Association's bylaw which prevented him from being selected for the Olympics after testing positive for drugs.
Although the case was not due to be held until next year Chambers wanted the injunction in order for him to be allowed to run in the Olympics next month before contesting the full case next year.
However, a High Court judge has ruled out that possibility and Chambers will now miss out on his dream of returning to the Olympic Games.
Chambers had won the National Championships and easily attained the Olympic qualifying standard and woud have represented Britain's best chance of a 100m medal in Beijing.
Chambers has served out a two-year ban after testing positive for a performance-enhancing steroid, but a special BOA bylaw says athletes cannot represent Team GB at the Olympics after a failed drugs test.
Chambers continues to argue that the bylaw should not stand as he is allowed to race by the IAAF and can take part in every other event such as the World Championships.
Several other athletes who have failed drusg test and served out bans will be taking part in Beijing but Chambers will not be one of them.

An rightly so aswell.

Im all for 2nd chances, but not in this instant.

You made your bed..........

He cost guys their medals that they deserved and can never get back.so why should anyone give this loser the time of day.(n)

has he ever said it was wrong what he did ?
he should now say so, and that this is price he must pay for his actions and that he is the example to youngsters of what it will cost them, to me the only way he can be invoved in sport is in the education of youngsters of why they shouldnt do it, this was me i couldve been the best but no-one will ever know including myself because i took the cheats option, all i worked hard for (cos he still wouldve worked hard, whatever he took allowed him to train harder and longer, the actual steroids dont give you a 2sec advantage they allow you to build yourself up more) was taken away because i didnt stick to the rules.

damn right he should be allowed to go. he's done his time.

what about all these footballers who miss doping tests ?

at least he was man enough to admit to it. unlike some other athletes whp have been caught and still deny it.

let him go i say.

Spot on.

Since when did we start punishing twice for the same crime in this country? He has served his punishment ans has come back clean and got the Qualifying time, let him in

So thats alright then the guys who didnt cheat and have had their medals taken off them should just accept it .so what if they trained for years for their one chance of glory and as far as I know he was aware ot the life bann for drug cheating sorry mate hes a disgrace and should never ever represent this country in anything again:@

Ok, think of it like this. Should Ian Huntley be allowed to get a job as a caretaker when he comes out of prison?

Principle is the same. Taking drugs to win a race is a crime. It's cheating, pure and simple.

I couldn't agree more Ghost. It makes me laugh when his appeal was based on calling the ban restricted trade. Its ridiculous that Chambers and criminals can even argue that there punishments restrict their trade when in actual fact it is their own actions that have caused it.

So someone who has served time in jail should never be allowed a job again mate?

There arent many better than him (especially british) so he isnt taking anyones job as they havent qualified
