Player Valuation: £25k
Whilst I can fully understand the sense of frustration being felt by our supporters in the wake of what some perceive to be a moratorium with regard to the signing of new players, I feel it is important to make a few points.

Our attempts to complete the signings of players we believe will improve the quality of our first-team squad continues on an hourly basis. We have had a budget for incoming transfers since the start of the summer – and that budget is in no way reliant or dependent upon either the proposed relocation of the Club to Kirkby or the sale of current players.

Indeed, any proceeds from outgoing transfers will – you can rest assured – be added to the existing budget to strengthen our manager’s hand as he seeks to enter the transfer market.

David and myself have been trying throughout the close season to sign those players whom he believes will help to improve the squad which achieved so much during the last campaign.

Like everyone connected with Everton Football Club I am desperately keen to see the arrival at Goodison Park of those players our manager would like to see in a blue shirt come next season.

I appreciate that waiting can be hard and that patience is invariably in short supply but we do expect to make signings before the opening of the new Premier League season.

Well I feel alot better now that BK has come out and said himself that there will be signings before the start of the new season.

Glad he came out with this...

...they just bought themselves an extra five minutes before it all starts up again.

It's a joke that our chairman had to come out and calm down the fans who really believe we won't be signing players, Moyes wanyts his first choices, and their clubs are playing hardball, no one wants to sell their players and we might just have to pay over the odds where Moyes does not usually want to do but to get our men, do we pay more?

Moyes is after top class players this summer, if we were skint, we would have been in for Sidwell and Steed from spurs.

This was a very important step to quash the fears. The internet is a buzz on everything anti positive on our club. We need something positive to break big within a short period of time to back up this first step. Good move.(y)

It's so simple but I do actually feel a little more relaxed now he's come out and said there is money and we are trying to sign players.

But until the first big singing is made I won't be totally convinced.

Don't be silly - Everton don't sing!

Haha, actually I read Tim Howards online diary today and he said the younger lads would be doing some singing tonight on karaoke!

Maybe Ian Ross has been bending his ears about the influx of frustrated emails that he's received over the past few days, so Ghost's efforts may well of not been the waste of time that they seemed to be !

I'm a bit disappointed that the supporters had so little faith/complained so much that the chairman had to actually make a statement about this.

Everton fans don't do optimism either. But at least we don't build an effigy of our Chairman nor accost him outside the ground... or use bricks (allegedly) or attack ambulances (allegedly) or.....

Yea i agree, they should keep us in the dark and let us worry ourself sick. I like it when our Chairman says nothing and the lack of players coming in fills me with glee. Im so happy i paid my £450 season ticket price and hope that every summer is filled with this lack of information.

Also i will be hoping that other team from Merseyside has a very good season and Torres and Gerrard dont have any career threatening injurys.
