They play through our midfield getting past Gomes many times mate. I’m sure they are aware pushing the ball a few yards past Gomes and they can outrun him pretty easily.

The majority of their play was hoofing it the Brazilian cart horse and feeding off him. Yes McGinn and Grealish got it down a couple of times but from the word go you could see what they wanted to do

Gueye was next to useless on the ball but world class without it. To see Gomez ambling about `enabling' Villa to open us up for both goals??? If Gueye was playing he would almost certainly have sensed the danger and been in a position to stop the attacks that Gomez enabled.

Gueye is way better as a defensive midfielder than Gomez will ever be an attacking/passing one.That is why we are unlikely to progress this season unless Gbamin is very close in class to Gueye which is hugely unlikely at the moment.
