even more than how fans may react to lescott coming back is how the players will react. he may still be mates with some but practically throwing a game to get a move is worse than anything Rooney did in my opinion. how motivated is he going to be back at Goodison as well. our most successful buys in that position have come from the lower leagues. its one of the areas were quality comes out with a higher profile sometimes. what about that Rodwell lad though at City, apparently he started as a centre back

Had that happened I would agree.. Didn't see him as any worse than the rest, to be honest he was probably one of our better players in that game..
We were ****e full stop and most of the goals were the fault of others, he was just the obvious scapegoat as his toys out the pram antics had clearly caused problems in the dressing room and pee'd off the fans.

yeah not really arguing he deliberately presented them with a win but do think he didn't care about the result and going out to play with someone making that attitude clear is going to be horrible. Don't think Rooney ever stop caring about winning to effect the rest of the team, although maybe he never had the chance

Still think your guessing like, there was nothing in his performance that suggested he didn't care about the result or the club, he just wanted CL, massive payrises and the chance to win something... All of which he got. If he didn't do what he did, he'd possibly still be potless at Everton. Moyes should of let him go before it all went sour imo.

Either Aymen Abdennour of Toulose or Bruno Martins Indi of Feyenoord. Both are big, quick left sided CBs. They're both rated at about 10m though so maybe not.

Abdennour has been linked with Barcelona and Arsenal recently so don't really see that one coming off.

I'd be happy to get Lescott back to be honest. He didn't handle leaving particularly well but then again neither did Moyes so not going to hold a grudge. Imagine he would be relatively well priced compared to equivalent players too.

Douglas(Twente) and Aldeweireld(Ajax) would both be great acquisitions.
More money than we have though quite likely. Of the two I'd prefer Douglas. He's basically a younger better version of Distin.
Christ knows how we'd deal with Munsterman again though.

Younger yes, better? maybe after a few years of consistency in the Premier League, but for right now i'm still mystified how it isn't who plays with Distin at the back for the French national side.

If we bought Douglas wed be buying a player on the cusp of being at his peak. I think Distin is a great player but on his way out. I don't think I mean better, really.

maybe guessing as a total lack of organisation across the back four is always difficult to understand when its been there before. just don't want to risk him coming back if everything that happens has left a bad taste among the players. If they felt anything like how I felt after that game then it is a big risk. I liked Lescott at the time but even then felt they were taken the second best of our centre halves. its a partner for Jags we should be looking for and if he is happy playing again with Lescott then will ignore my gut

I would love someone at the back with pace who can put their foot on the ball, someone who can claim to be a footballer first rather than a defender first, when was the last time we had a CB like that, Ferrari maybe? injuries seem to curb his chances though

There aren't many of those about. When he's in the mood Heitinga matches that description about as well as anyone in the league.
