The strikers you mention are top quality...

Cenk Tosun is not in that bracket I am afraid...

Hope I am wrong but he looks average to me...

My point is that you don’t necesssrily need pace to be a good striker if the service is there. I think Tosun is a good finisher and will have a good season for us.

Think he'll do well..... can finish / works hard and a bit of a snidey attitude. Al about who is providing the service and if someone with pace is dragging defenders around creating space for him.

I also don't think he's as slow as some make out either. He's not lightning, but he's not Gareth Barry either! lol

A big problem is that we've been spoiled with Lukaku in recent seasons. We are not going to get a player of his quality at the moment with no european footy unless we;

a) pay a mercenary type astronomical wages and fee to come here (not likely given today's wage bill news)

b) the scouts unearth a hidden gem somewhere...

Some of the top teams in Europe play with a striker without good pace. Madrid carry two of them in Benzema and Ronaldo, Juventus have Higuain, Bayern Lewandowski, Atletico Costa, none of these players are quick, it’s all about how you service the striker you have.

Ronaldo is still quick, maybe not blistering like he was but he still goes past players with ease and they don't catch him

if all you need is pace Rashford would be banging them in.

Pace is an advantage being a forward but not essential.

A manager that believes in him will help as well. Allardyce was banging on for ages about how he wasn’t up to speed almost as though he wasn’t behind the transfer. I recall there even being talk about him being sent back to turkey until he grabbed a couple of goals.

Tosun is nothing more then a jay Rodriguez. He is only over hyped here because he plays for us, if it were any other team like west ham. We would be laughing at the owners for signing him.
