Shocking that playing our champions league striker when we are actually attacking in a game has him scoring.

But I forget he isn't up to the premier league like lewen is eh Sam?

I know it's fashionable to blame Allardyce for anything and everything, but by Tosun's own admission he's found it a bit of a struggle and needed to settle in.
Perhaps so but that is common for any player moving countries

My point would revolve around why other teams don't spend a big amount of money on a player, especially a key player missing and then drop him completely and have the manager talk negatively about them.

Sure he has to adjust, course he does. He isn't going to adjust simply on the training ground though, and the past week proves even if he is adjusting , he is a champions league striker therefore he scores goals. Goals we were missing before we signed him.

It's like Chelsea signing morata in the summer and then not playing him for weeks.

Was good again yesterday. I know he probably wont be as prolific as Rom, but it is really nice to have a striker with a bit more technical ability than Niasse and Rom.

I don't think anyone is blaming Fat Sam for Tosun not setting in, I would imagine anyone coming from Turkey to Liverpool without much forward planning would find it a bit of a struggle. What I blame Fat Sam on is the way he handled it. He blabbed to the papers about Tosun's difficulties to justify not picking him and only did so when he needed to appease the supporters.

I dont think it was wrong of him to say Tosun needed a little time, but he said it in a way that belittle Tosun and made him sound a bad player.

He shouldn’t be taking pens though should he? When we have multiple in the squad with superior records in that regard?
75%
Not bad
But there’s more to it than that
First
It’s a team / manager decision who takes them
Second
In a pressure situation you use the pressure experienced players

As I recall Baines who has been our best pen taker
Missed a few important ones
If I was to chose between Baines and Rooney in a pressure situation
It’s Rooney
In my opinion
Vault away

Regardless if he's fast or not he's certainly quicker than Giroud. As long as he gets himself into scoring positions I think he will be fine. Before Burnley I think i said he's better than Messi and will score 10 goals if picked from then until the end of the season.

I stand by one of those claims still.

His strike rate from open play and his Utd and England career are completely irrelevant as we're talking about penalties which you seem to have failed to grasp. The statistics unequivocally show that Baines, Gylfy and Tosun are far more likely to convert penalties than Rooney so the only reason his first up instead of fourth as he should be is because he's using his status to indulge his own ego.
Min j never failed to grasp it
He has a 75 % success in penalties
Baines is better
But
I’ve seen Baines miss under pressure
Rooney I trust more under pressure
What yoe seem to have missed in your delusional attack on Rooney is it’s a club decision who takes the penalty
This wasn’t a mirallas grab the ball situation
This was the game plan
You just decided to rent your dislike of Rooney In a spectacularly crass and unjustified manner

Absolutely, we all want to hear news from the club but we don't need the manager bad mouthing players before he gives them a chance. Fat Sam is meant to be a defensive guru, we have seen that isn't true. He is also meant to be a good man manager, justifying yourself to the papers on who you pick doesn't feel like good man management to me. I think Tosun will do what he does for Everton in spite of Fat Sam not because of him. Hopefully he will be gone soon.

I think there are lots of things that Sam can be criticised over.. this isn't one of them.
When the player arrived he wasn't settled or ready to play.
He was kept out of the team until ready to make an impact, which he has done.
Of course Sam was going to be asked why he wasn't being played and his answer was the right one. The player needed to get fitter and needed time to settle.

It would have suited Sam better if he could have played him immediately and if he started scoring immediately.

Bet those who wrote him off based on media agendas against Walsh/Allardyce and our own manager saying he wasn't ready are feeling a bit daft now.

2 in 2, and a couple of hard working decent performances linking up well with the other players.

The lad can certainly finish, don’t know what Brighton’s defence we’re doing just leaving him totally free in the box though. Hopefully he can push on and become a driving force now
