I just watched one of them YouTube videos and he seemed to have a bit of ability going past a man but this is disheartening to hear.

Is he currently better than DCL?

If nothing else it will guarantee an even busier Ramadan period on GOT.

I'm turning a blind eye to that last bit C.

The ones who write someone off when they know nothing about him are best ignored so it's best to ignore everyone and join the few who want him to succeed. If and when he scores then we can argue and debate with the doubters that a goal is a goal because they would have already said that there granny could have scored it.

Sorry about that but like you it really does my head in when someone is written off before judgement can even be passed. Maybe they are craving attention or just miserable gets.

To be fair, some may be looking very pragmatically at the way we set up and fail to create chances for this type of striker, rather than writing the man off himself.

...plus people are still stinging from the fact our last transfer window made an absolute mess of the football club.

For me, he looks like the type we could have Sigurdsson threading his through-balls to... if we would only play him in the middle.

Based solely on Champions League goals, I'm saying Yes even though I love me some DCL.

I can see the boy Cenk just bundling into defenders like a more organised Niasse.

If he scores 3 times, I'll be glad.
 

Earlier today we covered reports from the Turkish media that Everton officials have travelled to Istanbul to close a deal for Besiktas forward Cenk Tosun.


The Turkey international has been strongly linked with a move to Everton, and Sporxhave reported on the details of the meeting.

It’s claimed Everton sporting director Steve Walsh has today been in talks to bring Tosun to Goodison Park, and that the Merseyside club have tabled an official bid of €20m with the Turkish side.

Sporx state Everton are now waiting on an answer from Besiktas on whether they will accept this bid, but it seems the Premier League side may need to increase their initial offer.

Besiktas are looking for offers up to €25m for their star forward, and Everton need to act quickly due to the interest from other clubs. Earlier reports suggested the English side were prepared to match Besiktas’ valuation of the forward.

Yesterday it was reported in the Turkish media Tosun had played his last game for Besiktas ahead of his proposed move to England. However, it seems Everton will need to hold further talks if they want to sign the player in the coming days.

Having never heard of him a few days ago, and again only going off YouTube, he seems very direct and no nonsense. He spots the goal and likes to shoot.
So, to sum up, he looks strong, likes to blam it, and has skill.

I think he'll do rather well.

I saw many comments like "Damn! We're buying a player from a trash league" Well, I agree that to a point; although the level of football in Turkish league is based on highly physical and defensive and not so exciting as PL but you are buying a player from a Top Tier club in this league.

Besiktas DNA is; "attack all the game, be competitive in every challenge, aim for the League title in every damn season, 2nd place accepted as failure". You are going to get a player from such club. Cenk adapted to the fan/media and club pressure, served us well and blended himself very well to play for a winner team. Premier League is a challenge for him only physically- mentally he is already on that level.

My only concern is, Everton is a great club but far from any success for a long, long time. He used to play for a Top Tier team for 5 years, breath the air of high competition and unfortunately he is going to a club which roams around pos. 6-10 for years. I hope he will keep his pace and appetite.

So please keep it in mind that if Cenk signs Everton it's because of 3 reasons; Bid level is unrejectable for the club - Everton is the "best" option out of other bidders from PL at the moment - He wants to play in PL. That's it.

He is not a trash player or some noob from Dutch/Belgian League playing vs easy defenders. soft gamer or pos.5-10 teams who has no DNA of winner. He is a winner player and you gonna love him.

Hope you're right mate but when Arouna Kone has a better scoring record than him at a worse club in that league then that's obviously going to be worrying, given that Kone was absolute dog poop here.
