Isn't that the issue though, we have spent so much time signing proven players for double their value as a result that the squad in chunks represents a highlight reel for relegation battle 2013-2017.

Perhaps signing the right player instead like them lot and salah is the way forward? Through scouting and actual effort inbetween transfer windows? Like competent clubs do.

In my opinion, our best players this season have been proven premier league players - Pickford & Rooney. Keane may well prove value as our defence has been in tatters all season and prior to WBA he's only had 1 game under BSA where we kept a clean sheet.

In contrast - Sandro, Klassaan and Vlasic have done nothing of note even Siggurdsson has scored 2-3 fantastic goals so far despite being somewhat underwhelming so far.

Just have to hope he is a success. At this price you are asking for probably no more than a 1 in 3 strike rate over a season.

Good luck to the lad here, I think he will work hard and be physically imposing.

A gamble certainly, but that's the market we are in. A few years ago, Turkish players would have been in awe of playing in the Premier League, but I think times have changed on that score.
