Probably watched him live in the flesh at champions league level as the Turkish league standard is so much lower. Makes perfect sense to me see how he does at the higher level.

Just to be clear on the point I was making: I agree seeing the player live should be part of a transfer strategy, but I just hope we attach a lot of weight to more cutting edge methods as well. I.e. I really hope the main reason we signed him isn't simply that Walsh saw him have a good game against Porto.
