Rumour has it Riquelme is still waiting there after Bill dropped him off to get £20 for his own medical.....if the deal has been done he must be due in Liverpool today. I’m not volunteering for the bushes outside USM FF again but I’ll nip up to the cash point in West Derby Village in the next 30mins. Anything for the cause.
We tried to get it done earlier in the week. Negotiations took longer than expected.
The first bid supposedly went in last Wednesday.
A week in Everton transfer dealings is actually an incredibly quick turnaround...
Ultimately mate unless we fix the problems in terms of supply and getting support around the striker it doesn't matter much whose up top.
And to fix those problems starts at the back, with the current left backs and center backs and lack of any centre mid with the ability to run forward and pass or wide player who actually can create and get into the box, we will still have a fourth yard gap between the striker and his support.
Need a good quality left back and a wider player at a bare minimum to even half address that issue, in reality, probably need 5 including the striker which is never happening and shows how terrible our recruitment has been
I wouldn't worry too much that he couldn't train with the team. If I know Cenk a little, he was running in the hotel corridors, doing push-ups, playing step with a dog ball etc. for the last 2 days to keep himself ready.
We definitely know Niasse is not very good, that much is true.
Just hope to god he can hit the ground running
It's about getting to know the team and system, though. That's the main issue.
Currently, we hardly have a style of play at all, so it's going to be hard enough for him to come in.
If he played in the derby he'd be up on his own for the entirety of it anyway.
Any type of movement would be nice in this Everton team

Would it not be too late for him to play tomorrow night Toff, even if he signed on the dotted line five minutes from now?
It would be just like Everton to play him and win only to be kicked out the Cup for fielding a player whose registration was flawed![]()

Enjoy your trip mate.Going to Villareal
didn't Andy Johnson score 2 on his Derby debut? Was thinking about previous Derby debuts for strikers for us - anyone remember Bakayoko's thrilling 0-0 at Goodison way back ?
