Nothing but a negotiation tactic I'd bet. I've no doubt there are several other interested parties but a player from a weak league who'll cost £25m is a very expensive punt.
We're the only ones to go near that price. That's why all the buzz is around us. His club are over playing the other interest to squeeze more concessions from us.
 

Was reading that his stock has risen in the last few seasons not just from his goals but overall ability. Besiktas fans saying the player he was a few years ago to what he is now is night and day. Still think it’s a risk if we get him but Allardyce trusts Walsh’s scouting so let’s see what happens.

I think this is an Allardyce pick and not Walsh mate as apparently he recommended him to Crystal Palace at some point
