CELTIC

Exactly. If they had applied themselves properly they would have won that game, rather than losing narrowly

I'm not 100% sure that is the case.

It would have been interesting to see what would have happened if Celtic could have held out for one more minute, and got a replay, but it's by no means certain Celtic would have won the replay. Feyenoord were an excellent side, and out played Celtic on the night. They thoroughly deserved to win the cup.

If it hadn't been for the great Ajax team of the early 70's you'd definitely have heard more of that Feyenoord team.

That Feyenoord side won the Uefa Cup in 1974 as well.In terms of the all time great dutch players, Wim Van Hanegem was right up there. That Feyenoord side and Feyenoord as a club, on a whole will always be in Ajax's shadow. But there's no shame in that.Feyenoord knocked Rangers out of the 2001/2002 Uefa Cup as well.So that sort of made up for 1970 i guess.lol

Utter BS story served up by the notoriously flaky Scottish footy press.
Regardless of how the season ends for Celtic I think I would be surprised if they don't go for the cheap and easy option of Lennon as manager, IMO I think Steve Clarke would be a good fit but may struggle mentally with the position following his rant after the secterian bile aimed at him by the Rangers fans, which would only increase further.
Moyes stock has now fallen so low he would walk over hot coals to take the job.
Can't really see them appointing a foreign coach, too early for John Kennedy, though I do see him being groomed for the job, any thoughts guys?

Moyes or Clarke would be my preferred picks.

So are Rangers doing the guard of honour tomorrow or have they cry arsed their way out of it?

Here's the answer Mikey straight from Slippy's mouth - "The club have made a decision on that and decided there won't be a guard of honour, so my thoughts are irrelevant. I will follow what I'm told to do by the people in charge of the club."

Cowardly cop out.

Lennon's reply - “I’m disappointed they are not. Celtic would have done it.”

Did you really expect anything else?

Absolute lack of class from Rangers, an opportunity to do the right and sporting thing.

The Bears dont do bending the knee to Timothy. They have too much dignity.

I like how even The Classico teams, as much hate as there is between them, are prepared to do guards of honour for each other but The "Mighty" Glasgow Rangers think it's beneath them
