Cazoo to replace Sportpesa

To "mix with the big boys" you have to get there first.

Why would anyone want to sponsor a club who isn't one of the top clubs?

You can moan all you want (and you do!) but what are you suggesting happens instead then? Demand that someone sponsors us?

A big company does not want to sponsor us big money because we are not a big club at present. If we manage to become a big club again by winning stuff the big sponsors will come.

Its not that hard to understand is it?
To become a big club you need to associate with big brands. Smaller clubs than us are gaining more exposure by having Nike kits, for example, than we are with some jarg make no one in Liverpool would be caught dead wearing.

Our main kit sponsor had 600 Twitter followers today which sums up what a shabby brand we have just attached ourselves to and before you claim followers on social media isn’t important, it is.

Because of FFP owners can’t just throw money at clubs. Thanks to Koeman/Walsh Allardyce and Silva their wasteful in the market has handicapped Ancelotti and whoever bankrolls the club in in the current market.

Again, you're making an excuse to fit a fantasy. If FFP really was the reason for Usmanov’s relatively small investment given his humongous wealth, the shirt sponsorship would have been a great opportunity to pump money into the club.

Hired a world class manager and become associated with Usmanov?
It's putting lipstick on a pig in a way, unless the on field product is good, it doesn't matter if you inject a world class manager and investor into our management, the team could still play like crap and not bring in enough revenue to be worth being a shirt sponsor. We have to make Europe before cazoos contract is up, at least, or we'll have another no name sponsor come 2023

It's a new company only founded in 2018, the owner has had two successful companies,LoveFilm that he sold for 200 mill to Amazon and Zoopla that he sold for 1 bill. Proper 'limited ambition' having a very successful businessman involved with the club isn't it?

Yeah, but can he defend corners??

Smaller clubs that have Nike are way down their totem pole of teams, with cookie cutter template kits, we didn’t exactly push units when we ourselves had Nike years back

Yes the new sponsor have low social media presence but the guy who runs it is no mug in the business game, Love Film was a major rival to Netflix when they were both in the home rental game and Zoopla is one of the biggest online property developers. Cazoo are relatively fresh but have had tv advertising and see it as a massive opportunity for themselves to associate with us to boost their profile as the league is such a global brand

Hummel aren’t exactly a no mark brand either, they’ve designed some of the best know football kits and even some of their modern kits are better than the cookie cutter Nike and Adidas designs

This part is interesting: "The difference with the Cazoo deal is it does not include the Everton Women’s team or academy sides, enabling Everton to pursue alternative partners beyond the men's senior squad."

Maybe a less obvious way to get more Uzzy money into the club through those two.

That and the sleeve sponser - add around £10 million for all those and its essentially like doubling your shirt sponser.

Would make sense if we did do that with USM.
