Welcome to Barcelonaton FC
Well...when he turned up into the team we all felt he looked a really good player, stood out more than the now [Poor language removed]-hot Fellaini. He was just settling in but seemed comfortable, didnt shy away from a tackle, and could pass the ball cleanly.

He saved us a 2-2 draw with a great volley agasint Liege at home after we leaked in an own goal and some shocking defending from Lescott (Castillo did no wrong with them goals).

His last game was agasint Blackburn in the Carling Cup. He and Fellaini were so piss poor they were subbed at half time. Yes, his positioning was off but I personally put that down to the fact he and Fellaini were getting into each others way -- Fellaini was being played too deep but its not till now he's been pushed forward.

And now? Dropped from the bench against Bolton.

Any ideas why he's not getting played? Does Moyes not rate him even after some decent games when he came?

I think he has some potencial to be THE Carsley replacement but hasnt been given a chance with Moyes prepared to play Neville in there with Hibbert at Right Back, or Rodwell. I've no problems with Rodwell, but you cant relay on a 17 year old for the entire season.

We need to give the creative players some freedom and we cant do that if they're shitting it that they cant get back and defend.

Thoughts?

Don't know why he's not being played, but I wouldn't mind seeing him play behind Fellaini and Osman (if you play with 2 strikers) or behind Fellaini and Cahill (If you play 1 striker). Considering the current form of both the Yak and Saha it wouldn't surprise me if Moyes tries the second scenario in the next match

We dont see him in training like!! If the boss thinks he's not good enough, then thats fine by me. TBH i thought Fellaini looked the better player from the start. From the little i saw castello is way off. Hopefully he's getting it sorted in training an he'll come good.

He was injured after international duty, so perhaps there has been a reoccurrence of that?

Otherwise, something is not quite right and Moyes doesn't rate him. Moyes has a tendency to single out people and not play them, ever.

It's a shame because like you said, he looked an interesting player to begin with.

Or maybe Moyes has other options and is giving the players who have performed better a chance, Ossie has popped up with a few goals, Felliani is starting to play and he wants to go with them 2 rather Castillo, im sure he will get his chance again. Its a long season.

Unless he's still struggling with the injury that he picked up when on international duty I'd say that the signs are not good for Segundo. Rodwell was the man picked to warm the bench last night, and if Moyes thinks that the 17 year old can do just as effective a job as Castillo now, he's not likely to shell out big money for Castillo at the end of the season.

I just think we have got to trust Daveys judgement with this, i mean if he listened to most of us he would have sent Fellaini back to Belguim after his 1st game. Maybe hes trying to build a team without a DM, get the back 4 used to playing without cover.

And it aint working. We dont have anyone in the middle that can hold the ball, bring people in, and create something. Arteta and Pienaar can but are used out wide. Fellaini is an imposing attacking midfielder, Cahill the same. Osman is a good central midfielder but just doesnt have the vision.

But this just goes to show how [Poor language removed] a summer we had. All eyes on Moutinho, no back up plan for an influencial DM in Carsley. It clearly effected the defenders and how they work aswell as Moyes tactics. He's now gonna spend the rest of the season finding a winning formula and moan about how limited his squad is to do anything.

So he gets Castillo in on loan. He has a few good games, gets dropped after a [Poor language removed] one, never to be seen again.

Team that shoul've built from last year never happened and its back to square one because Moyes brought players in that aint good enough - Nash, Castillo, maybe Jacobsen.
