There were more goals in the game in general in the 1920s. Dixie scored 60 in 39 league games (he missed the other three games for one reason or another) and Haaland scored 36 in 38.
I disagree Haaland is the greatest but it’s not a completely ridiculous argument. Assuming it’s being offered in good faith, which it may not be.
I think that it is impossible to say who is/was better.
However, in 1927/28 Everton scored 102 goals.
In 2022/23 City scored 94.
In 2023/24 City scored 96.
In 2024/25 City scored 72.
Bit of a blip last season due to City being below par but not a lot in in the other seasons.
Before Haaland joined:
In 2021/22 City scored 99.
In 2020/21 City scored 83.
In 2019/20 City scored 102.
In 2018/19 City scored 95.
In 2017/18 City scored 106.
It's not as clear cut as people make out.
