Back in the 80s, I didn't think it was possible to dislike Souness any more than I did... and then he became Rangers' player-manager. Saw him turn out a couple of times for them, and his horrible, cynical style of play had turned even worse, mainly because he couldn't dictate the game like he once did. Utter pond life.
Souness is a smooth brain from a different era. His opinions about the modern game mean nothing to me.

I dont mind hin to be honest, in the sense that he doesn't bother me..
I must admit I found Carragher's comments refreshingly honest and sensible. Fair play to him.

I don’t actually think Carragher is a bad pundit, Neville is far superior, but that’s not an insult.
He shows his bias and he’s clearly a red, but there’s a reason sky brought in players who recently retired or are still around clubs, because they know the score.
It’s easy to go with the Big 6 because they have the widest of audiences, so fair play for calling it straight.
Despite doing some stupid things, he’s genuinely a nice fella off the pitch, does a lot for the local charities and goes out his way, so even though he does idiotic things like turn up at the pier head during lockdown or spitting at people, I’ll let him off.
Souness by contrast is a snivelling fart. By his logic, he should be serving a life sentence for some of the assaults he’s made.
