Carragher interview

After his comments about us in his book you'd have thought the last team he would want to have his testamonial against would be Everton and a load of "bitter blues". Admittidly he was bang on to criticise THAT disgusting Steven Gerrard song but a lot of what he said could be pulled to pieces, for starters claiming Howard Kendall left us in 1987 "for the money".

Hands up,i used to respect Carragher as a player and person before that book came out.

I wish Moyes and EFC had told him were to go when he came begging us to be the opponent for his big day.

Why does everyone make such a fuss about that song? It's f*ckin funny. It's making fun of his **** of a wife, its not directed at his kid! Like they did with Neville. Everyone knows she's a slapper and anyway I'm sorry but any footballer with a high profile wife gets stick, Ashley Cole about Cheryl, Harry Kewell about his wife. Think Liverpool, the Everton fans who think this song is just sooooo abhorent, Charralaarrr need to get off their high horses. Far worse songs have been sung. I think they only thing they can complain about with us is the literally 3 or 4 Everton fans who made the fence gestures. Of course they made it out like it was everyone doing it but that's Liverpool for ya!

Again what TX and Chico have said, he is definately a great baiter, we all bite. Imagine him posting on here, there'd be pages of responses to the stuff he'd come up with

He'd give Chico a very serious run for his money.

Start a thread, drop a bomb, and casually walk out.

Can you please tell me what that Gerrard song has got to do with football?

Its an embarrassment to our club.

Yes because football fans sing a detailed analysis of what is going on on the pitch all the time.

Its Gerrard, of course he's going to get abuse from Everton fans. What football clubs fans doesnt give out stick to it's biggest rivals. The only reason he and everybody at LFC get arsey about it is because they know it's true. His wife is a massive sl*tbag. They try and turn it round like 'oh your well out of order singing about someones kids' when the song is not directed at his kids at all and even they know that. It's taking the mick out of Gerrard for having a cheating wife. Thats fair game if you ask me. There paid enough to deal with it tbh. The only thing I would call into question if I heard someone singing would be comments about Hillsborough, singing insults directed at children (like the [Poor language removed] did with Neville) and racism. Everything else is fair game and in some cases, absolutly hilarious. There's nothing wrong with that song. It's cheeky, it's offensive to Gerrard, it'll make his missus fidget in her seat but it's football and we're not gonna start singing 'I will always love you' at him.

The only time it IS embarressing is when we sing it when we're not even playing Liverpool.

I hate that Liverpool fans get on there high horses and are like 'how daaaaarrreee you' when they have and will do again sing much much much worse than what the average Evertonian could even dream of. Neville's kid and Munich spring to mind. Pot. Kettle. Black. They haven't got a leg to stand on.

That song does mention children though doesn't it.

And whether Gerrards missus is a cheat or not whats it got to do with you,me or anyone else?

That song is not cheeky its a total embarrassment to our club if its sung when we play the RS or at any other time. Why not get back to the more fitting "Steven Gerrard,is a w*****,is a w*****.

This. Imo it's not right for fans to sing about a footballers personal life regardless of who it is. But rs supporters can't complain about us, when they do it more often, and much worse.

Carragher is a shitehouse and it speaks volumes for Everton that we did not tell him to do one.

The way he behaved in the Clattenburg derby he has a nerve to ask us for anything.

thats the day it changed for me too. up until then i just thought he was a decent blue who happened to play for liverpool, no big deal. but in the aftermath of that bent result you start to think 'aye fecking aye'. then the book came out and the penny dropped. not just been his book he's been in magazines and been quite snide about everton too.

as for the gerrard song it was kind of funny for the shock value the first time but i really hate it now and it makes me cringe (like when we play wigan and chant murderer at kirkland!!!). i think its bad to sing about a little girl, the gerrard song should never be sung again.

again it's about opinions but he put his opinions out there in black and white for everyone to see, they were serialised and they made us as fans and a club look like dicks, but a moneybags premier league footballer throws money our way just as his testimonial is coming up and all is forgiven?

I'm sorry but anyone thinking of going to the Jamie Carragher Ego Day needs to have a word with themselves. "I just want it to be a day where reds and blues can sit together and enjoy some friendly banter." That's why there's a segregated away end, then.

I see it's already been posted what he's said and done in the past, but he's alright being our best mate when he wants something. You know the only reason we've agreed to this is because it's for charity, and if we didn't he'd just be like "oh the bitter blues don't care about the kids laaaaa."

I'll donate the £20 to the charity off my own back, Jamie Carragher can go **** himself.

Actually, I might consider going if we called up Lucas Neill...

I'm not going because i think Anfield is a horrible ground.

As for the Gerrard song, i'm with EFCNIK, there are loads of songs sung that don't have much to do with football. Not saying it is particulary right, but what do you expect? They sing about us being Welsh, we call them Norweigans, that hasn't got anything to do with football but it gets sung, is that wrong?

Carra laa has a pop at Blues for singing songs about St Steven, but conveniently doesn't saying anything about his fans singing Munich songs or about Carsley's baby, double standards and made us out to be the [Poor language removed] of merseyside and them to be the class, and the media darlings they are.

You might say to me that we shouldn't sing these type of songs at all, correct, but don't expect blues fans to sit there and take [Poor language removed] when we having songs just as bad directed at us and our players

But how is that Gerrard song supposed to inspire our lads on derby day?

The only good thing is i think most have cottoned on to how pathetic it is and its thankfully dying out. Gerrard has admitted he has blues in his family, they must cringe when they hear it.

And its true the RS have crass songs to.

O my god, it's just a laugh lighten up! We sing our COYB songs as well, no harm in having a bit of a laugh at St.Steven. Every single football fanbase in England sing humerous songs every now and then. Whats wrong with it?

"It has become a lot worse over the years and is a big reason why my relationship with Everton has turned sour...there is no way back."

END OF STORY.

The feller's got a brass ******* neck on him.

from a previous davek post (06/05/2010 @ 06:09 pm - can't plagiarise!) but all from his book that was serialised in some red top. it was like a smear campaign against everton and evertonians for everyone to see:

"...when Rafael went for a bit of revenge and called them a small club, after they came to Anfield for a draw, how did they react? They put a statement on their official website, having a go back. How small-time can you get? It was embarrassing. At board level, you should show some dignity and rise above the banter.

"There is an exaggerated perception of how well Liverpool and Everton fans used to get on 20 years ago but, equally, I have noticed a much meaner atmosphere at more recent derbies.

"As someone who has been a Blue and a Red, I feel qualified to say where it all went wrong and I feel the responsibility lies mainly with the way Everton fans reacted to their barren spell. That, plus their treatment of Liverpool players who are my friends as well as teammates.

"It has added a sinister element to the traditional rivalry and led to a complete transformation in my loyalties, to the extent that I now hate losing to Everton more than any other side in the world.

"Hate would be too strong to describe my feelings towards them, but I do hate what their fans sing about Steven Gerrard and his family at every derby. It is personal, vindictive and disgusting and would be unacceptable in any form of life, let alone football.

"All players face flak from opposition fans, but when people start telling lies and repeat them in despicable chants, I am appalled.

"It has become a lot worse over the years and is a big reason why my relationship with Everton has turned sour. When you see your best mates being attacked unjustly, there is no way back."

"A Goodison persecution complex has developed and it's not just the players. There are plenty at Everton who have done their club no favours when talking about Liverpool and you really would expect their hierarchy to be more considered and careful with their remarks."

i was hoping we would tell this nugget to take his money back and [Poor language removed]. maybe sent him a copy of his scribblings with the above highlighted for his benefit.

Just incase anyone forgot
