SOME OF THE ANCELOTTI PRE MATCH LIVERPOOL P/C

Everton injury news
On injuries: No news, but all the players are available. It's true that they travelled, they played, but they came back in good condition and are all available for tomorrow

Ancelotti's message to players
On the derby: "I think it will be good for us to have this kind of test. One of the best teams in England for sure, they were the best last season. It's a fantastic challenge, a good test for us.

Ancelotti on transfers
Honestly, I'm not focused there on this moment. We are focused on the derby for tomorrow. Our director is working on this.

Ancelotti on managing in England
It's true I have experience in other countries, but I think the Premier League is the best league in the world in my opinion.

Ancelotti on last season's Merseyside derby at Goodison
On different derby to June: "In June it was the game after lockdown, both teams were not ready. It will be a different game, with different intensity and quality I'm sure."

Ancelotti on Liverpool's 7-2 defeat to Aston VIlla
In general there were a lot of goals in the past games. The fact there is no crowd, maybe you are less worried about defending, you want to attack. But I think that's going to change, teams in the future are more focused defensively

Ancelotti on Calvert-Lewin
I think he's in a good moment, he showed a good quality with the national team and I am happy for this. He's back with the same condition and the same attitude.

Ancelotti on Klopp praise
On Klopp and challenging: "I want to say thanks to him! To be a challenger for Liverpool could be really god for us. But Liverpool are doing so well, I think we are not so far but still far from them

Ancelotti on derby drought
[Coleman] doesn't need to speak to his team-mates for them to know how important this game is
On ten year derby drought: "Everyone knows how important this derby is. Everyone knows how important this game is for this period, we want to keep this period good for the future

Ancelotti on Liverpool
We don't have to think what happened in the last game, Liverpool as usual play with a lot of intensity and quality. This will be the opponent we play tomorrow, so we have to pay attention. We have to be confident to be able to show our quality."

Ancelotti on midfield decision
On midfield decision: "I'm going to decide! I don't know how, but I will decide the line-up tomorrow knowing I have a lot of players who want to play, this is good."

Ancelotti on Klopp relationship
We are good friends. I feel good when I am with him, we don't have a lot of time of course to talk because we are really busy. He's a fantastic man, he brings energy to me when I am with him. I have a lot of respect for him."

Ancelotti on Liverpool city lockdown
It's a difficult period for everyone but the only thing we can do is to follow the protocol that the government give to us, to be patient & hope that everything will be okay as soon as possible

Ancelotti on international break
"I think every time we had players that played in the break, the important thing for us was they came back without problems. Maybe they are a little bit tired, so this could be a consideration to choose the line-up."

Yerry Mina ruled fit for Merseyside derby
He's ok, he trained today without problem. He had a little problem in training before the last game. But he's rested and he's ok for tomorrow."
It's true they [James and Mina] came back yesterday but we are going to use this time to recover them. Then we will see in the game

Ancelotti on Bernard and Everton's Brazilians
I don't see similarities with the other Brazilians I've trained, every one is special. I have confidence in him [Bernard] and in the future he is going to play."

Ancelotti on Coleman
He's an example of professionality, character and a sense of belonging. For sure he will be important for us this season."

The question he was answering directly stated 'one more incoming perhaps?' but I guess his answer could been taken as just a general 'the director is handling the transfer situation today, not me'.

He’s always coy on transfer rumours.

Just don’t see anything happening. No solid rumours and our squad size by Ancelotti’s admission is big enough.
