I really do. It just so happens that good football and entertaining football tend to overlap to a degree because teams that play good football create chances and score goals.

And the PL has style points. It's a thing called goal difference.

We won 4 games in December and didn't play well in any of them.

Goal difference means scoring more than you concede, 1-0 every week means you have an exceptional GD.

1-0 every week with 1 shot on target is not realistic and that's what I mean. You have to do more than that.

But if you are good defensively, you will find you can hold your leads very well. That may be with your 1st shot on target or beyond. That's what top teams do as well.

I dont understand your thinking at all. If we lose more defensively than we gain offensively youd still make the change? That is just dogma and stupidity.

I actually think Godfrey and Holgate offer a bit offensively. Godfrey carries the ball very well. I'd live to see his progressive carry stats compared to other full backs. He wont be the best but I'd imagine he will be quite solid.

We need to add more offensively. At present there are better ways to do it than weakening the defensive stability. Iwobi and James returning will help, as will Gomes potential return to form. We also need Richarlinson to click into gear. If the above can happen, while only conceding say 0.5-0.7 goals per game, we are really in business.

My two thoughts are one that no Godfrey is not good enough progressively because even if he's average at carrying he's well well below that passing forward. It's handicapping us with the ball.

And the other is that I don't think we're defending at a .5 goals per game level. I think we're defending at a 1 goal a game level which is very different in terms of what results you are getting. We were on a hot streak.

We spent our record fee on Sigurdsson but it’s not close to £70 Million for Fernandes.

Quick scan told me hes on 100k.

He came from Portugal, so he would have quadrupled his wages.

I doubt his next contract will be that low.
