Thinking outside the box I wonder whether someone like Digne might be able to play centre mid. He can certainly get up and down something we are missing at the moment. Nkounkou could then be given a run out on the left. May be worth experimenting. It’s not like the current personnel are working

I’d play the best left back in the league, at left back myself.

I know but the situation is that dire at the moment. Give Onyango a run then. Admittedly I don’t know much about him but it’s not like the current incumbents are pulling up trees. The change might push us on to a European place whereas as the moment there is only one direction we are going. If it doesn’t work, nothing is lost

Shaw was more than good before his injury. Nowhere near our French maestro at present. And regards their left back, go wash your mouth out.

Pace and athleticism is so important in the modern game. You can carry the likes of James because of his quality on the ball but you need legs around him. Look how the likes of Fabinho just ghosted through our midfield.

Onyango is 18 yrs of age with one brief cameo in a cup game against lower league opposition and you want to throw him into midfield
I am no big fan of Davies Gomes ,Siggy but they are all at this moment in time streets ahead of the young lad

What a massive summer recruitment wise. Dont get it right and same old next season. Last years was good. A fit rodriguez starts. A fit allan starts. A fit doucoure starts. All you can hope for when you sign people is they stay fit. Been a tad unlucky with that. But the intention was right as opposed to the previous 4/5 years recruitment which had been possibly the worst i have seen in terms of money outlay and what we were buying. And still paying for it now as they're hanging around.
Seasons over. The target now is to push your gomes sigurdssons and iwobis down the pecking order. If we dont get any width into this side i'll be gutted.
Not sure i can handle another season of alex iwobi.
