If nothing else Carlo would raise our profile. Which honestly is better for us than a re-tread like Moyes. It doesn't matter that Carlo would be a stopgap, b/c all managers don't last long where they are any more. Carlo should be able to help us recruit better players, which will then help us get better managers after he leaves.

Don't overthink it.

But we won't get him anyway b/c he's going to Arsenal, so I'm not losing any sleep over it

Can you find any list anywhere that confirms that? Because I can’t. He’s not even on any of the 2019 top 20 lists that I can find.

there was a story claiming that Shanghai were going to offer him a contract extension at some insane salary (£30m per year or something).. and over the last few days that seems to have morphed into “that’s what he’s being paid”

Happy to be proven wrong if you can find any evidence other than newspaper articles from the last week.

the only stuff I can find from when he was appointed quoted a figure of ~£5m per year, which isn’t even CLOSE to top 3

It amazes me that some Evertonians think we - a PL club with cash to pay top people and money for players - cant attract a manager like him at the end of his career.

Ppl really under rate our club and squad.. we have easy one of top 7 starting line up in the league when fit.. just need a manager with tactical awareness and to give the players a true winning mentality.

I just don't think Carlo is right for us currently, nor we for him. Have you seen him deal with a struggling team before? Plus reports suggest he's looking lethargic and he's coming close to the end of his career.

I think Moyes with Dunc as assistant could actually be a good option!
