The draw for the second round of the Carling Cup takes place on Wednesday evening.
Everton are seeded in the draw which takes place after Wednesday's first round games.
The top 24 sides in the in the competition - based on last season's league tables - are seeded, meaning the Toffees are likely to face competition from either League One or League Two.
Last season Everton entered the competition at the third round stage and defeated Hull 4-0 before going out to Tottenham Hotspur in round four.
Second round games take place during the week commencing 23 August.
