The system and Martinez arent too blame. Its the players.
You reckon Martinez tells the players to hide and not ask for the ball? Or tell them to keep hold of the ball for longer than they should? Or tell them not to gamble on a cross? Course he doesnt, if you looked at Wigan they played with pace, we clearly arent doing that when we should.

The system is working, but mainly everything is too slow. By the time we get to the edge of the box their defence is totally organised and any space is easily snuffed out.
You're wrong mate, it is not working. Most teams will be more than happy to see us pass it around, they know we can't get through.
We used to do it all the time! We'd all laugh at teams like City, we'd let them pass all game and not let them through on goal.
Getting a few passes in is meaningless.

Final stats:

61% possession
13 goal attempts (3 on target) v 4(1)
5 corners v 4

Compared to City's game last week (City stats first)

70% possession
12 goal attempts (5 on target) v 10(8)
8 corners v 3

So we had roughly as many goal attempts as City, although they were nearly twice as accurate, and we limited Cardiff to only one shot on target compared to the 8 that they enjoyed last week.

Jelavic has scored 1 league goal in his last 20 league games. It's not acceptable.
Kone has 1 in 11 but he hasn't started all of those and he's still looking for sharpness after a disrupted pre-season.
Vic has 1 in 12 but hasn't started a lot either.

Forget signing a midfielder. We need a striker capable of scoring 1 in 4 as a minimum requirement.

Us not scoring is not Martinez's fault. His plans lead us to having complete dominance of the game, and having four times as many shots as the opposition. He can't make our strikers not be tat.

The only thing standing between this being a brilliant start to the season is a miscued shot/cross at Norwich, a Fellaini poster against West Brom and a penalty here, or Jelavic/Mirallas not blowing clear opportunities.

All we need is Kone or Jelavic to come good, Mirallas to get out of his rut and some effing luck and we will be getting results.

As poor as Jela has been, why do I get the feeling that he would've tapped in Gerry's cross...

Why couldn't we have left 2 strikers on?

Hearing a lot about the lack of a 'Plan B'

It's the 'Plan A' that's worrying me. He should recognise a certain calibre of side will set up a certain way and set up from the off to play against that.

We're not Swansea or Wigan, and the sooner he realises teams will play deeper the better. They'll sit deep and be happy watching Jags and co try an pass the ball to death...

Personally I thought we played well, had lots of the ball and dominated the game, we did create some decent chances all we lack is a striker to stick the ball away.

That's three matches utterly dominated. This system is working, no question. We desperately need a striker in who can give us a few.

It's working? Not ruling out that it won't in the future, but three draws against bang average opposition and two goals in 120 mins against Stevenage isn't what I expected or wanted for the start to the season.

The only possible way what we're trying could be considered working, at present, is that we have loads of possession. This is due to teams camping in their own half and letting us have it, fully in the knowledge that as soon as we get to the final third we have nothing to offer, despite being knee deep in quality players such as Baines, Pienaar, Mirallas and Fellaini.

We've known for months now that teams will do exactly what they've done. I want to see some answers to the questions they're asking of us.
