…I’m sure I’m not alone in being there in ‘75 when Viv Busby‘s goals knocked us out. We were top of the league, they were in the division below.

A terrific draw but they do well at Goodison;

That's the perception. But in the last 20 years they've won 3 times here, no draws and we've beaten them 13 times.

The truth is that they've only done well at Goodison in the last 2 seasons when they've won all three games here.

What they've done in the past two seasons is more relevant than what they did two decades ago.

For context, how many times have Everton won at Old Trafford since 1975? I recall 2013, 1992, and a league cup game in 1984. There are possibly others. But, basically, if United were drawn at home to us in the last eight, they’d see it as a shoe-in. We need to start thinking likewise if we want to progress.
Shoo in.

the fulham game will be the one of 8 games in december so dyche will earn his money that month
Some big games for us in December too. Even the game before at Burnley away and Forrest away. Touch wood we word we are building momentum at a good time to give us a good mid table finish and a long over due trophy.

If we get to a 2 legged semi final in January, won’t we have a few players missing because of the Africa Nations?
Only Gueye. Doucoure won't go he said...

Everton handed 'Significant Boost' as Abdoulaye Doucoure set to miss AFCON

Everton have been handed a “significant boost” ahead of January after it emerged Abdoulaye Doucoure is unlikely to go to AFCON with Mali, according to Liverpool Echo.

The Toffees midfielder is a key player for Sean Dyche and is currently the team’s top scorer since the manager arrived at the club at the start of 2023, replacing Frank Lampard who had sidelined him.

And now Doucoure is set to sign a new contract at Goodison Park to extend his stay at the club, and should be available in early 2024 as it looks “increasingly likely” that he will stay at Finch Farm instead of heading to the African Cup of Nations with his national team.
“In a further boost to Blues boss Sean Dyche the chances of the midfielder remaining with the club during the Africa Cup of Nations are looking increasingly likely,” they wrote (27 October).

“Doucoure has not represented Mali in recent internationals and, while no concrete decision has been made and the door remains open for a return, it currently looks like he will stay at Finch Farm.

“Should he do so, it would be a significant boost to Dyche. With Idrissa Gueye a potential departure from Merseyside to represent Senegal, the prospect of losing two of his favoured central midfield three for several games would have been of concern.”

Only one player missing (and a squad player at that) for AFCON is significant.

West Ham lose 4 (if they somehow beat the RS at home) - attacking players too (Kudus, Benrahma, Aguerd & Cornet).
Chelsea lose Jackson, RS lose Salad, Newcastle are not affected at all.

Lets face it, If we finally deservedly put Fulham to the sword at home (for recent times anyway), we all want Port Vale.

…lets save them for the final :bye:
