It seems to be the faux-smart thinking "lets save ourselves so we can be fresh later on in the competition".

Stuff that - every game should be the final ffs.

...whilst some of the teams challenging for the title and Champions League continue to select very strong teams in this competition.

In our situation I have no idea why our manager doesn’t treat these games the same as Premiership matches. Saying that, we might still have got beat given how we defend as a unit.

..as long as we’re not involved in a relegation scrap.

We won't be though. That's why the rotation was insane. There are 3 teams currently on 2 points. The standard is rank.

We will come 7-12th. Literally who cares. Those are all positions of failure. He gave up a trophy to perhaps sneak a point away on Saturday. I've lost a lot of respect for him as a manager.

They're paid millions, MILLIONS to decide to take it easy in one of three competitions they're in.

Football is certainly on a decline with attitudes like this. I mean, what's the point of going to any game if they ain't going to try to win it. If there's a paying crowd, the club has a fundamental duty to strive and do its best.

Winning is habit and is one we fail season after season. We don't possess the aggressive/snide the belief to win. Also the league cup (Carabao cup) is route into Europe. At the moment cannot see we have moved any further forward in ambitions since Moyes managed. Just about competitive in the league with player's to come in currently as they won't change that we offer little up front.

You just know that the draw for the next round will have City playing Chelsea, Spurs v Arsenal and S'ton v Burton.
Draw was made on Saturday, Southampton play Leicester away

Fourth-round draw
Manchester City v Fulham
Bournemouth v Norwich City
Arsenal v Blackpool
Leicester City v Everton or Southampton
West Ham v Tottenham
Middlesbrough v Crystal Palace
Chelsea v Derby County
Burton Albion v Nottingham Forest

... What's even more crazy is that after the Leicester game, the non-internationals in the squad (Schneiderlin, Walcott, Zouma, Kenny, Davies, Bernard, Lookman, Calvert-Lewin, probably Digne, to name a few) will have 15 days off before our next game. I know football is a quicker, more athletic game nowadays than even 25 years ago, but FFS, how much rest do they need to avoid fatigue? Or is it more about giving squad players a run, though to the detriment of playing XI continuity?

we just shoot our selves in the foot time and time again. No need to drop Pickford, no real need to change a defence that had just kept their first clean sheet. It's like we can't help our selves

resting players like digne and Walcott baffle me the most because they don't play at international level so they literally have a 2 week brake coming up next week, pickford is a keeper and keepers don't need resting. still wound up

awful, just awful.on Saturday I'll be watching Young Munster in their Season opener, I will see a group of players fight tooth and nail for every yard on that pitch, then go to work, and the following Saturday do exactly the same again.
No player needs a rest, one game a week, what the hell is happening to this sport at all ?. do 1st and 2nd division players rest players mid week ?. Surely to God the club is in line with the fanbase , no excuse whatsoever.

Can you really see us beating Leicester away? When was the last time we won an away game, I can't even remember!!

We have to remain positive, a win before a two week break is very important for confidence & morale.

Away wins are a sore subject but we must turn this around & become a more efficient away team.
