It seems there arent many Evertonians who are fans of Pip (except kingJoleon of course :P) so assuming we replaced him or at least gave the Captains armband to someone else who would you pick? With the new respect the ref campaign thats going on the captains role is much more important as its them that have to speak to the ref on pretty much all controversial decisions and to be honest baby faced pip going over and touching the ref up cant work that badly against us.

In a dream world we could possibly replace him with this Moutinhio lad (provided his english is up to it) aside from that id probably have Joleon or VDM when he plays, he'd obviously bribe them with promises of whores and all the heiniken they can drink

Cahill defo, but too much of sick note.

Neville is never injured and there giving 100% for 90minutes week in week out (football talants are another arguement). More experience, leads the team, sets good examples on and off the field especially for the youngsters.

Lescott needs to own a role before being in contention for me. He hasnt stamped down on being the 1st choice CB after playing most of last season at LB. And last weekend showed he's got to command his position better, set examples for the team.

i think that it's very much dependent on the position they are playing, yes, yes i know dino zoff captained italy to a world cup win, but on saturday in the 2nd 1/2 phil was in front of me at right back, now i'm pretty certain that arteta, baxter and whoever else was over in the far corner near the street wouldnt have been able to hear anything he was saying, with the camber of the pitch they probably couldnt even see him, and i'm pretty certain that he wouldnt hear anything that moyes was tryting to convey to him as well. after all if most of the play is being dictated by a bloke in the middle of the park who's pulling the strings then he should be able to do the job better than the bloke at the back on the wing, the goalie would have a better view of how things are going from a central position at the back, like zoff did.
club captain is a different matter though and more of a figure head type role.

I certaninly wouldnt rule him out and he's probably better than most, but I dont see Cahill as a true captain.

Neville is a good politician type captain, similar to Beckam, but I dont think he's a true leader of men either.

The simple fact is no one in that first 11 is a true captain in my mind.

Neville should have the team captain role(if he has to have anything), ie the voice of the team like weir a few years ago. He isn't a leader at all on the pitch

Hmm i guess you cant go past tim cahill for his dedication to the club

but 2 others id consider is Leon Osman or Phill Jagielka

does that sound ight?

Dedication as in constantly going against the clubs wishes and playing in every australia game and getting a serioualy damaging injury? To be fair to Moyes, he did say this would happen if he continued playing so many games.

Little tiny ossie a captain! Jeez I hope not, we'd have the most timid captain in the whole world:lol:

Neither really command respect or have enough charm for me. A captain needs to set an example both on and off the pitch as well as be able to rally the troops.

Cahill has the energy passion and charisma to make people like him and lift spirits, as well as on occasion turn around a game.

Neville has experience, sensibility and is a great example of how to behave as a professional footballer (well at least attitude wise, skill is another concern)

Cant really see anyone listening to ossie or jags if they started shouting people around, jags has had 2 seasons in the prem and is still learning, as is osman and his size and presence hardly command the respect a captain needs.

Jag is the same as neville. Ossie just doesn't strike me as a leader
