Cancelling this season's Premier League

Should football be canceled until August and this season declared null and void?

Why don’t they just accept this season is dead and let us all start looking ahead to football resuming in August, if possible, with a fresh new start?

This “behind closed doors” nonsense is just plain tedious.

No one wants “behind closed doors” football.

It is used a a punishment for misbehaving fans for a very good reason...it is a soul destroying experience for both players and the absent fans.

Not to be used as a means to complete a whole quarter of a season in one long drawn out borefest.

Who the heck is interested in picking up the threads of a season which died in March by it resuming in mid-summer?

Well, except for one group of degenerates who still cling to the daft mantra of their deranged prophet that football is “more important than life or death”.

Why play them behind closed doors?

Either COVID19 isn't a threat and people can gather in numbers, or it is a threat and people can't gather.

22 players on a pitch together is a large gathering, as well as all the coaching staff, subs, logistics, TV etc.

A game played behind closed doors will still feature hundreds of people working in close proximity to each other.

Or does football still think it's immune for some reason????

If it's finished behind closed doors then every team from prem to league 2 would have to reimburse season ticket holders, then all those clubs get the money back from EFL and Prem, I bet that's not even a consideration, this is all been about the TV deals and screw everyone else health wise and financially

Clubs with more season tickets then get more votes which effectively silences the voices of minority groups.

I am intrigued by your liquidation idea though.
So every season ticket holder of every Premier League club gets a vote to liquidate any Prem team of their choice? Let's get this done!
It's nothing nasty , vote for a club sell off all its assets give to the NHS , it's for a good cause.

It's not even that - it means teams forego home advantage in return fixtures.

Us for example. We get leathered 5-2 away and we get no chance at the return fixture in front of our home fans to attempt to remedy it.

It's a nonsense. The whole thing is. You either play 38 games in front of fans and complete the competition or you don't. It's not hard to understand; the only two reasons the league hasn't been declared null and void right now is because of money and because the FA and media are infested with Kopites.

Imagine a Merseyside Derby in the middle of June, with no fans. It’s got pre season tournament written all over it

It destroys any argument about maintaining the ‘integrity’ of the league. As that outcome carries with it zero integrity as it’s a false environment and removes any home advantage. It’s a solution that’s driven by ££££ and devalues the league completely.

As the clock ticks on, I think it’s an outcome that’ll increasingly lose its backing, particularly if the TV companies turn their noses up at the prospect of broadcasting a couple of dozen training games for £762m.

While I agree about the drabness of football behind closed doors its all about the TV cash. Gotta fulfill the contract.

That shows it does work, it kept cretinous Corbyn and dangerous McDonnell out of Downing Street.

Cretinous ?

Corbyn was the best chance this country had and it blew it. Years of Nhs neglect by the Tories and now it's saving lives they have the cheek to stand and clap it??

Corbyn would have actually given the NHS a chance to properly fight this infection if he'd won in 2017.

Instead we ended up with a posh toff who despises this city nearly as much as we despise him.
